One Last Elephant Hunt - Changes In The Wind

The elephant pictured is around 20.
This is about average +
We had made the decision not to sell the last elephant that we have on quota, and we were waiting for confirmation for another 5 yrs extension, which I received 30 minutes ago. We do know that we have to raise prices a minimum of 15%.

If you have been following this thread. There is a member who for lack of better words is saying any company that is problems selling a ele hunt should be looked on with suspicion. I as strongly suggest you contact our clients from 2024.
They all got their elephant. All trophies have been delivered to Collets taxidermy with proper documentation.

I am one of the ESTATIC HAPPY clients Lon is talking about. Anyone who wants to PM me with questions please do!!!! Also please read my write up here from my April hunt

Hi RB,

Thank you very much for making yourself available to members. As you know I was not physically able to participate in your hunt I was to mentally go thru all of the hunts ups and down. The first few days which are filled with excitement. Then after several unsuccessful days a bit of fatigue and depression starts in.

Then the daily check in calls start out with, he got his ele. I will let you tell the rest of the story. I think we had a great elephant hunt, your first and maybe my last.

Again thank you.

Hopefully not your last ele hunt, just a delay in getting back to ele hunting.

Best hopes and wishes that you are back to being 100% soon.

Hello Lon,

We have not met but I hope to meet soon. Your hunts are an excellent offer, and good news that you have a 5 year extension for elephant in your area.

The noise here from some posts are just trash. I burn trash.

Prayers for your treatments and healing.
Stay strong.
Vaya con Dios.

It was nothing short of fabulous!!! The experience was everything!!!! The camp reminded me of old Africa with Rourak and Hemingway there with me!!! What an honor it was for me to both meet and talk to you my friend!!!!

@Tokoloshe Safaris are these exportable to the US?
Hi, I see I missed your question concerning elephant export/ import.
We have never had a problem on either, but the USA is constantly changing the requirements, mostly on paperwork. Sorry about the delay.

I was responding to the person who commented on he needed to change his 'All Inclusive' word. I have no dog in the fight as there is no fight, you or otherwise.
Sorry if I offended your valid question about all inclusive.
When I used the term “I do not have a dog in this fight”. Maybe I should have used the term “I don’t have a horse in this race”, or not commented nothing at all.

I’ve never thought your advertised hunts were a scam, but I have thought they are being conducted in very marginal areas. If you want to change the perception I’d recommend less mention of bad agents, terrible clients, illegal hunts and talk more about the areas you hunt. Some of the older posts you’ve made seem much higher quality than recent posts. Some photos help too.
Hi, Our hunting concession and adjoining area, have great populations. It is short on big bulls, both body and ivory size. Fortunately we are getting a few more bigger bulls visiting and some staying in the area.

At the moment we have about 6 with ivory that might hit 40lb. they also big bodied.

We ended up selling the last ele hunt at our posted price of $15,000.00. If we had them I could sell 3 more at that price.

I am afraid next year is going to see a increase in hunt costs. Who knows and some of the increases may not be as bad as we think.

Lon

No hunts in SA. Check.
No CBL. Check.
No hunts if price is too good. Check.

Have I missed any?

Just messing 375!
Hi Daisy, May inquire what does CBL stand for?

I am still trying to catch up on some of post questions and statements. I would like to answer your suggestion not bad mouthing agents. I have no problem with people using agents. We do not use their services and we only sell directly to the actual hunter.

Here is a example of why. Agent X buy a hunt which we are led to believe is for him he sends payment in full for one of our all inclusive hunts with the understanding the trophy fee will be refunded if elephant is not taken. He doubles the $9,000.00 trophy fee and takes $18,000 from the client. Client does not take his elephant. Now he wants refunded the sum of $18,000 from us.

If making this statement is “bad mouthing”, it will just have to stand.
It is unfortunate there are bad ones out there, but there are. The same as bad operators.

From what I see here..offering exportable elephant hunts in the 40lbs range in Africa today for $15.000 must be considered a very very good offer..

And I support the decision to sell hunts directly to clients for the obvious reasons Lon express..good on you..!

Just want to echo what Lon has always said and what I personally saw on my hunt. The average will be 15-25. The exception is 40 pounds. I personally saw and came close to closing the deal on my guesstimate was a 35 pound big body bull. The wind switched at las minute and I saw him running away laterally with his head then swaying at us as he ran. So everything Lon has said I have personally hunted just this past April. Fantastic experience in every way from start to finish !!!

Ontaro hunter, I haven’t walked their shoes and some of these people are really damaged goods.

Most are really fun, the drunken attorney was probably one best and worse, you just had to hide his muzzle brake and bottle os scotch. Of course these items materialized by evening. Poor bugged after a few scotch he would have you rolling on the floor in laughter.

Hi Lon, Cajun Hunter here. Have been looking for another opportunity for elephant and you have my interest. Does your permit expire this year? I am having back surgery in a couple of weeks and am not sure of being sufficiently recovered for the trip. Please tell me more about hunt specifics as to what area and anything else you can . I have hunted Matesi and flew into VF for that hunt. Are you near there? Thanks—

If this was '25 we would be chatting. Would love to do a hunt like this with a few plains game as opportunity presents.

We 'll visit Livingstone / Vic Falls for 3 days and 2 nights. Back to Mapcha by car, back to WDH with Airlink (grab my rifles and belongings) and the same day back to Frankfurt.
What do you mind from your own experience ? and your wife .? Did she appreciate ?
We already hunted Namibia in 2022, May for PG near Outjo for 8 days. Great country.
Thank you for your advises.
