Nilgai Hunt In Texas

Justin, well said!
I can tell you old codgers that they do a great job for us mentally 18 year olds (physically 70s :ROFLMAO::LOL::rolleyes:!).
Nothing healthier than breathing the fresh West Texas air, IMO!

Thank you Phil, I appreciate the kind words about the Rockin G, and although we love having friends hunt with us, it definitely isn’t about that. It’s about all of us as a group getting out and staying active and being good stewards of the lifestyle we live and love and always being willing ambassadors of our hunting heritage. If you hunt with us great, but please always share the experience with others! The stories fuel us all!!!! Keep ‘me coming folks. I learn so much from you guys old and young!

Hey Erick. This guy sounds like a Politian! Right on Justin. Look forward to meeting you one day soon and share a fire with a good glass of wine and some BBQ!

On two separate whitetail hunts to south Texas, I had "targets of opportunity" on Nilgai. Once spotted, the stalk is as close to an African hunt as I think there is. Tough animals, shot one with a 300 WM and the other with a 338 WM. The meat from Nilgai is extremely good, you could serve it to folks and they'd think they were eating top dollar beef. Nilgai are big, think kudu or cow elk size, and will fill a freezer like an elk will. The first Nilgai I shot, we didn't have a lot of freezer space, so I gave a bunch to neighbors, relatives, even my barber. They all raved about it, even the ones not keen on game meat.

Being called a politician is hilarious LMAO. After we share a campfire you’ll understand just how funny that is!!!! Just an old ranch hand that loves my life and wants to share what I’m blessed enough to do for a living with as many people as I can. Don’t care if it’s a trigger pull on a trophy, shooting them with a camera, stalking in on game just to learn what I can and can’t get away with, or chasing frogs and grasshoppers with kids just to get them outside and enjoying fresh air. I just realize how fortunate I truly am and never want to take it for granted or waste a day. We only get one shot at life, we might as well wear this old body out and have lots of laughs doing it!

Just kidding my friend and once you meet me you will understand my new York sense of humor. I love your attitude!

No worries sir!!! I laughed hard at the politician remark... really glad you fired that off in the morning so I blew coffee out of my nose instead of a good whiskey drink when I busted out laughing

Start callin Justin, “pass the bisquets Pappy O’Daniel”:LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL:
For those of that haven’t met Justin you’ll find out that he is extremely passionate about what we do. He’s also extremely good at what he does and is my right hand man. We’ve been like brothers for about 15 years and been hunting together for at least 10 of those.

“He ain’t one at a timin here, he’s Mass Communicatin”.

Bonafide lol!!!!! Surprised you didn’t take ever opportunity to bring up me being old. Disappointed you missed a dig.

That's funny ED!

That is funny. Erik usually takes every chance he gets to remind me that I’m old, can’t believe he passed it up lol. He specializes in giving me a hard time and I love it

i kind of think ive wore mine out and then some.still got plenty of trigger strength left.

Gents I’ve still got some openings for this. Holler at me and we can get a hunt lined up. Like I said before these Nilgai hunts are only done in certain months so it is limited availability.

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.

Mark
