Hello All
I’m a new member here from Wisconsin, USA.
This forum was recommended by a PH as good starting point for researching African Hunts and getting questions answered as well as pointers and advice.
I’ve wanted to hunt a few African species for a long time and I’m hoping to get my wife and I there in the next year or two.
I’ll do my best to use any search function first so the same newbie questions don’t have to be filtered through.
Take Care

Welcome to AH ! Your PH was right, this forum is probably the best resource on the planet for everything to do with hunting Africa!

Hello and welcome!

Giday Buckshot85 and welcome to the A H forums

Welcome!

After reading some of the check lists and associated undisclosed costs, a hunt seems less attainable.
Man, I wasn’t thinking about any of that stuff just to head to SA to shoot a few animals.
Guess I have way more homework than I thought.

Welcome to AH! Ask away, that’s what this place is for!

Welcome to AH buckshot85!

Welcome ! I thought the same thing when I first joined. You can make it happen if you want. What I thought would be a one time trip has turned into a yearly adventure. Just plan ahead. You don’t have to go for big animals first trip.

Welcome! I’m sure you will enjoy the forum and the knowledgeable, friendly people here. Good luck planning your trip

Welcome!! Don't let all the bullshit affect your Africa plans. I started planning a trip a few years back and gave up because of the multiple companies and stuff I'd have to deal with. I discovered this forum and it made planning a lot easier. You can ask people that have been there and done that. I'm going for the first time in July, don't let anything stop you.

Welcome! You've come to the right place! When you add it up it is still a much better value than many guided hunts in the U.S. for a single animal!!

Appreciate all the encouragement!
I’m getting old fast and I won’t give up. It’s time to get some things checked off my list before it’s too late.

Very good point!! Plains game hunt will probably be less than a good quality elk hunt, depending on taxidermy

Hello buckshot85,

Khomas Highland Hunting Safaris of Namibia, welcomes you to the greatest forum on earth.

Yes, planning an African Safari seems daunting at first.
But, at the end of the day, it is not as difficult as it it looks.
And, like anything during this short life on earth that is worth having, it is worth the extra effort.

Pretty much everyone, including myself, felt exactly the same as you, upon looking into an African hunting trip for the first time.

I encourage you to have a look at Khomas Safaris (don’t miss our videos).
Furthermore, no matter whomever you might decide to book with, do visit Africa.
You will never be the same after that.

Best Regards,
Velo Dog.

Good morning. I see that you had a Sauer 202 for sale for $3,000. Did you sell it at that price?
I have one for sale as well. I listed it (on here ) at $3,000 as well. Is the price high, low or right where it should be?

Thanks. Alex. [redacted] in case you want to call me to discuss further. I appreciate your time help and support.

Dave, I could use both of them if still available. I just picked up a new .22 mag and a .22 pump that they would be perfect on.
