New name same opinions

many of you will know my previous user name here was skinnersblade, unfortunately there was an incident on another forum where it was used without my knowledge in a classified want add text message scam. Because of this I’ve chosen to retire that name across all of the forums I frequent. If you get a text message quoting that user name you can be sure it’s not me. Feel free to reach out here in the pm section if that happens.

My new user name is Tubby’s canteen. My late grandfather the man I get my given name from was known as tubby and from the late thirties on he ram a canteen gas station trading post here on the homestead. Unfortunately all that is left now of the canteen is the stone foundation but one of my goals is to someday rebuild it as a museum.

Haven’t seen the red river in years, only one I can come up with was “you better marry that girl Matt”

Some articles have indicated that John Wayne couldn’t stand Montgomery Clift and referred to him on the set as “arrogant little bastard” and that Wayne also thought the final fight scene in Red River (between him and Clift) wouldn’t be “believable“ because Clift was so small and scrawny.
