I saw this, very sorry to hear about your friends. Will definitely pray. We have friends in the North. So far it has been quiet there. Any gang members that have shown up were summarily executed by the locals.

I haven't been there, but it looks to me like Haiti has been imploding since it was founded. I don't see anything getting better. If that is how they treat missionaries that want to help, I won't be going there.

Send in the Marines like last time. A Marine patrol encountered a bunch of Cops/gangs violating curfew, when the fire fight was over none of the cops/gang members were recognizable as human. No trouble after that.

Last time I was in Haiti was 26 years ago. It was a complete shit hole then and remains so. Nothing like getting off the Air France plane from Miami greeted by the army with AK-47’s as you disembark and walk to the terminal.

It's obvious that U.S. money and other foreign aid have done nothing to improve their plight. Unfortunately, it might look like it but they haven't yet hit bottom.

Agreed. To give you an idea how bad US aid can be, after the earthquake we sent shiploads of bottled water in. This was fine in the immediate aftermath, but we continued to do so, giving it away for free, and drove the only bottling plant in the country out of business.

In a similar vein, the most capable hospital in country was shuttered by free Red Cross clinics. The Red Cross refused to help a for profit hospital.

It’s hard to believe just how bad we are at helping beyond immediate triage in the wake of a disaster.

So your point is that two young American missionaries were butchered because of something that supposedly happened a hundred years ago? I see. They meant to do good, but they deserved to die because they were Americans. Right.

What a tragedy! These young people were there to help others and they get murdered.

Saw this earlier.....photo of a beautiful young couple.......so sad. How could any human sink so low as to murder two young helpers coming out of a church? .....FWB
