MOZ Terrorist Attack..

Problem is that the Moz army appear very week.. The have brought in some of the SA army to help out in the north..to not very much avail..

Now if you commit some white mercenaries with Mi-24 combat helicopters..etc.

Mmm...wagner got their arses handed to them.....think the only ones that managed to try to sort it were the SA outfit..but underfunded I think and contract terminated....they are the ones who saved as many of the total workers as they could...the Rwandan army are most jacked up ones there from what I have read....SA army isn't up to much....and the government side isn't winning

Just so you know there are some excellent PMCs who use (and used) a lot of non-white combatants.

Im surprised it only happed now. Been red flags on ALL of Moz for looong time but people " choose" to ignore it for capital gain . First world rules does not apply in Africa, nobody is coming to " rescue" you from terrorist , know that when you go.

Same here, always armed here at home. We kept our rifles in our rooms in Mozambique, albeit a bolt action .375 isn’t much of a match against terrs with automatic weapons.
IM a little different in that I feel my safety is no ones responsibility other than my own, unless I'm under the umbrella of a government that assures it, I ask a certain outfitter REP. in Limpopo, if the area was safe and could I keep my rifle in my room ,HE LAUGHED it off and said why. I referred him to the pic of the hillside in SA of about 2000 crosses representing murdered farmers and said heres why, and went with a different outfitter. having said that America is not a safe place anymore either but at least we have the 2nd A. and available training. still its risky out there, 2 illegals arrested last week transporting 190,000 rounds of 308. makes you wonder where they got it. (UTAH) and for what reason . I dont have a clue where I could buy that much ammo. but they did. CARTELS maybe?

Force multiplier .....the range of the 375 is usually longer that the typical assault rifle. They can't touch but you can touch them. Bigger issue is the amount of ammunition available at the time of the fire fight.

Basically the same thing, I’m looking at a magazine with 4 rounds and 1 up the pipe, as the terr with a 30 round magazine spraying and praying. Best case scenario would be take out a couple terrs and liberate their AKs and go to work.

@cwpayton, do you have the picture you referenced? I would like to see it. I correspond with 4 South African outfitters on a monthly basis and they never mention any of it other than an “isolated” incident or two.

I emailed Jumbo Moore. He did confirm that Kambako has been looted and burnt. There were no kidnappings. He also said that they have alternative plans for the hunters this season and more information would be sent soon.

It is a shame that this happened. Kambako camp was an amazing place that I haven't quit thinking about since i left last November. A lot of this type of activity has been going on in the Cabo Delgado province for a while. I never felt unsafe and I only saw people on two occasions during my safari. I still want to return to this amazing place as soon as I can.

It’s pretty famous about the number of farmers murdered since the new rulers of RSA took power

Suspiciously similar to what happened in Burkina Fasso, hopefully this will turn out better.

I can find, it busy now ,give me a day

Not just the Niassa in Mozambique, but THE SELOUS in Tanzania, I think the whole thing will be put down buy both governments, as this will cut off funds for the government officials?
Every country in Africa has a level 2 -3 do not travel/ terrorist risk , except Zambia
I don’t think I will sweat it that much , if I can survive escape from Libya and Algeria back in the 1990’s I don’t think I’ll worry about a small local uprising , as compared to a entire two countries in a Arab uprising and having to fight for a escape to Malta by boat.
The governments will probably provide armed forces to defend the tourists/ hunters
Besides we go for the best adventure possible
you sound like a badass

update from SCI:

Safari Club International is aware of a reported terrorist incident in northern Mozambique that involved a hunting camp in the Niassa Reserve after several villages near Nairoto were attacked.

SCI is in contact with the affected safari operator, who says his main camp was looted and burned, but that no one was injured nor taken hostage despite reports claiming otherwise. The US State Department has issued a level 3 travel alert for northern Mozambique and says that Mozambican security forces are responding to this latest incident.

SCI is monitoring developments and will provide more details in the upcoming Sunday, April 27 issue of the digital SCI News newsletter. Hunters with safaris to northern Mozambique may wish to contact their operators about security and evacuation plans in their areas and consider security evacuation insurance.

The US State Department advises enrolling in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program STEP to receive security updates. SCI members may contact SCI’s Hunter Information

Nairoto Is a pretty chaotic place with the gold rush and LPG fields

Violence in the area has claimed more than 4,500 lives and displaced over 1 million people, mostly women and children, since 2017.

It has also affected multibillion-dollar investments, including France’s TotalEnergies $20 billion liquified natural gas project, which the firm halted in 2021. Shortly after, it invoked force majeure after the insurgents attacked the town of Palma, very near the Mozambique LNG project site.

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
