Mannlicher carbines and double set triggers

Those set triggers on my CZ 550s are scary! I've only set the triggers when at the range and even then with a large bore rifle I was NOT comfortable with it. I see no use for them except for sighting in. I'll bet the "let off" is a pound or less. What is/was the purpose of them in the first place? Large bore rifles aren't target rifles for long range precision shooting.
If you search on line there are instructions on how to adjust the set trigger letoff. There are also instructions in setting take up and over travel in both set and unset modes. If I am in an elevated stand or blind I will use the set triggers but if still hunting I never use it. I also do not use them while wearing gloves.

The BRNO mod 21 and 22 are basically small ring Brno actions in 7x57,8x57, 6.5x57 and one or two more calibers, Not a finer production Sporting rifle can be found even today, They are twins to the G33-40 Mauser and the Mauser Custom Service carbine often referred to as the mod 35?? Mauser as I recall??

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.

Hello:
I’ll take the .375 Whitworth for $1,150 if the deal falls through.
Thanks .
