Little Brother comes home, the 300 Holland & Holland

LeRoy does a great job on your stocks. A great pair to hunt the world with.

Beautiful! LeRoy has stocked three rifles for me. His work is outstanding!

Much better than original!
I forgot to add: same stock measurements and probably other bespoke measurements, same trigger type, same bolt stroke length, in two smooth feeding, great classic calibers--how much better could it even get performance-wise?!

LeRoy also cleaned up the triggers, they are the best trigger on any hunting rifle I’ve had!
@CoElkHunter has shot the 375 he can attest to how good the triggers are….

Some of you may remember that I had a 1950 Transition Pre-64 Winchester M-70 in 375 H&H restored and restocked for me by LeRoy Berry at Canyon Creek Custom Gun Stocks that I posted about here
https://www.africahunting.com/threads/my-“old-but-new”-winchester-pre-64-375-h-h.78449/
And then promptly bought a 300 H&H that I sent to LeRoy and posted here
Well little brother has come home!!! I give you the 300 H&H!!!

I still need to mount the scope and QD Talley rings and bases. I’ll post pics when done…

Here are the two brothers together! Both 1950 transition magnum length Winchesters, one in 300 H&H and the other in 375 H&H, both stocked from the very same Turkish Walnut stock blank, and both serial #’d just 1015 apart!

Very happy and excited with the both of them and can’t wait to get them out to the Save!
Wowww
Beautiful
Congratulations!!

your rifles are really nice but at my age I been thinking about a carbon light weight.

Mountain Hunting a light weight is nice for sure but on Safari the tracks will carry your gun if you want lol

Those are awesome. Just need to add one in .243 and .220 Swift for deerslayers. :-) . Seriously great work by Mr. Berry!

You have some beautiful rifles; you need take them to Africa. (y)

So when I posted pics of the 300 H&H it wasn’t 100% complete but I just couldn’t help myself and had to share it with all of you. I told you I would post pics of when it was completed and here it is! Had a Leupold VX-3i 3.5-10x40 mounted in polished Talley QD rings. Also had the bolt and magazine follower jeweled to match the 375…
Here they both are 100% complete!

Sorry for the poor pics lol

Spoiler Alert, I am so happy with the work I just sent LeRoy my Custom Shop 458 to be restocked in Turkish Walnut with a drop mag AND a very rare Super Grade in 7STW (only 230 made) to be restocked in English Walnut. Stay tuned for updates…

Lovely rifles! I have a 1949 transition M70 .300 H&H that similarly needed restoration but I went with a cerokote finish and a laminate stock to make her my all around Alaskan work horse. I can’t imagine a better gun.

Nugget here. A guide gave me the nickname as I looked similar to Nugent at the time. Hunting for over 50 years yet I am new to hunting in another country and its inherent game species. I plan to do archery. I have not yet ruled out the long iron as a tag-along for a stalk. I am still deciding on a short list of game. Not a marksman but better than average with powder and string.

may I suggest Intaba Safaris in the East Cape by Port Elizabeth, Eugene is a great guy, 2 of us will be there April 6th to April 14th. he does cull hunts(that's what I am doing) and if you go to his web site he is and offering daily fees of 200.00 and good cull prices. Thanks Jim
Everyone always thinks about the worst thing that can happen, maybe ask yourself what's the best outcome that could happen?
