Left Handed shooters club!

Hi as an English left hander, it's a read issue in obtaining LH rifles
I have a .243 Remmington. Sako .308. Tikka 223 and a .30-06 and a hyme .375. So any help with finding LH rifles in the UK would be good

Here are my rifles with the bolt on the correct (= left!) side. From top to bottom: CZ 550 Safari Magnum in .375 H&H, Savage Model 111 in .300 Win Mag, and Savage Model 10 in .243 Win.

Hi all,

If anyone is selling or knows of someone looking to sell a lefty 7x57, 7x64 or .375 H&H in RSA, please let me know?

Thanks a mill,
Alex

I'm left handed right eye dominant. I shoot with both hands with rifles and shotguns but all my guns are right handed models. Glad to know other lefts are out there shooting full time left handed.:)

I'm the same way, left handed but right eye dominant, so I shoot from the right side. I use to play golf left handed, then switch to right because it was easier to get clubs. I am equally bad from either side.

@375 Ruger Fan Haha I did the same with golf. I bet you find you wont have much trouble shooting left handed if you try it out.

My local Cabelas has a Browning A Bolt LH in 375HH, and a Remington 700LH in 458WM. They also have a CZ550 Magnum in 500 A-Square, but in RH, in case anyone has problems with Brontosaurus in their garden.....

As for me, just a couple in Remington 700's, one in .223 and one in 338WM; neither pretty enough for a picture.

I finally got that new light rifle I've been talking about and bought a .300 wsm.

In the end I decided to go with wood and the Browning over the Tikka. The gun seems to fit me pretty well and I hope to have time to get some rounds through it over the next few weeks.

I wanted a lightweight rifle, which limited by choices in a reasonably priced left hand bolt.... I topped it with a Swavorski Z3 3x9. Semi retiring the .30/06 I have had since I was 15 won't be easy, until I'm going up the mountain at least. :P Pimp:

@Royal27 I'm in same boat as @JacoS ... left handed shooter, but most of my firearms are right handed- I've gotten pretty quick with follow-up shots. Its all a matter of practice.

Here's my Fierce Edge in 7mm Rem Mag. It's topped with a Nightforce SHV 4-14x56

And here's my pride and joy... Les Baer Custom 1911 (w/ ambi safety!!)

I grew up shooting right hand rifles and only got my first left hand bolt three years ago. I too could be pretty quick with reloads. I will just say this, don't get a lefthand bolt unless you're ready to convert them all!

The .300 wsm that I got actually semi retired my .30/06 that my father gave me when I was 15. I will still take the 06 deer hunting from time to time I'm sure, so it certainly isn't totally retired, but for elk hunting and Africa the browning will now be the go to rifle.

So, useless information, but I feel a need to share this any way. I'm a lefty, like the rest of you. I've been shooting right handed rifles since I started shooting as a kid as a result of a lack of choice. A few months ago, I started shooting from my weak side and I'm now as accurate on my right side as I am on my left and don't mind shooting either. SO my point is: It is possible to teach yourself to do both :) Have a good weekend, mense!

Did you sell the CZ?

I missed that you picked the Browning up somehow!

That rifle will hunt anywhere in the world - hot, cold, wet, or dry. :)

The guy had a 3 day inspection period, so I told him it would likely get sent back. He decided to let me off the hook for it. Went down after that and picked up the browning for $600 and it's in mint cond. I then found the Sightron S-tac scope- 2-10x32, 30mm tube on clearance. Normally $599 got it for $249! Actually an awesome scope, was better than I had hoped for. Tons of eye relief, I have it mounted as far forward as possible and can look thru it with both eyes open at 2x!

Hi it's good to see other left handed shooters.
Home for me is in the uk, so LH rifles are hard to find. And you can forget dangerous game rifles.
I have the following:
Tikka t3 .233
Remington 700 .243
Sake .308
Tikka t3 .30-06
Heym .375

Left handed rifles over 30cal. and especially .375 and up can be hard to find here too. Then you run into the increased price just cause its on the other side. Got really lucky with this one!

Nice Gun! I am taking the exact gun to Alaska in ten days for brown bear. ( except mine has the bolt on the proper side...HaHaHa ) Seems perfect for the weather there and the dust in Africa. No animals have laughed at my composite stock and lived!

Actually this is a thread for the few rifles with the bolt on the TRUE correct side! My grandmother always used to say god only made so many people perfect the rest he made right handed. That's why lefty guns are so much more expensive- we have to pay for our perfection! ;)  (y)

I have a few interesting correctly handed rifles.

A left handed 32 caliber flintlock. Great little snowshoe hare gun.

A 1942 model 70 converted to LH and rebored to 35 Whelen.

A left handed Remington KS Mountain rifle factory chambered in 300 H&H. Not sure but I suspect it's the only one in the world so chambered.

My favorite, the left handed model 70 in 400 Whelen.

And Colonel Charles Askins' model 70 converted to left handed and chambered in 308 Norma Magnum.

Good Morning x84958
I have read your post about Jamy Traut and your hunt in Caprivi. I am planning such a hunt for 2026, Oct with Jamy.
Just a question , because I will combine Caprivi and Panorama for PG, is the daily rate the same the week long, I mean the one for Caprivi or when in Panorama it will be a PG rate ?
thank you and congrats for your story.
Best regards
Philippe from France

Hello Doug,
I am Philippe from France and plan to go hunting Caprivi in 2026, Oct.
I have read on AH you had some time in Vic Falls after hunting. May I ask you with whom you have planned / organized the Chobe NP tour and the different visits. (with my GF we will have 4 days and 3 nights there)
Thank in advance, I will appreciate your response.
Merci
Philippe
