Leather hunting sling/accurate shooting sling designed by Hansie Minnaar

The military "1917" types of slings where you're strapped in change based on what you're wearing. I have a different notch for a bare arm, my competition shooting coat and a heavy hunting parka. One can really go down a rabbit hole, so to speak, with this.

I have however used slings in the "hasty" configuration where the support arm is simply wrapped around the sling. That has helped me prone, seated, kneeling and in contorted positions in trees, bushes, over rocks etc... but not for me in offhand. I've tried and tried and tried. For me offhand is all about timing.
Yep, if you fully "loop up", by definition what you are wearing will affect the adjustment on the sling. The advantage of a Ching Sling, or this modified Safari Ching sling is that it takes zero time to loop up, and you probably won't have to adjust it as much either...

Oh, and that "hasty sling"? That's pretty much what this is, but not quite as improvised. And yes, it will help you prone, seated, kneeling and contorted positions... because it's one more point of contact with something. But it will do nothing in offhand, and was never intended for that.

Thank you! Offhand with any kind of sling has not worked for me and your post makes me think I'm not missing some magic technique. As I mentioned earlier, I've tried and tried and tried offhand with a sling and my scores do not go up. In fact, I become more erratic with more fliers.
Yep, nothing in offhand. It's for supported use. Basically, you are tightening groups. If you have a 1 MOA rifle, can anyone really keep it in 1 MOA offhand? I sure can't. But I can hit the theoretical "dinner plate at 100m", and that's pretty much the boiler room on most things worth hunting around here. Supported, it keeps the groups tight, and the farther, the more you need that tight group.

What I mean by that is your one round that you're going to put in the heart of whatever is going to go exactly where you thought it would go, because you had a nice 3 shot group when you sighted things in, and that one shot at whatever, if you could in theory place your sighted in target on it, will be a fourth hole proving that three shot group.

Good day to all members, I believe you all to be in good health and happy to face a new year???:A Banana::A Banana::A Big Hello::A Big Hello: Members this thread is about a great device that I feel will be to the benefit of any hunter, for sure it is going to benefit my shooting abilities. This is a hunting/shooting sling designed by my good friend Hansie Minnaar. Hansie use this sling extensively while hunting. He made the sling from good quality cow hide leather. Here are photos of how he make this sling. I already bought myself one and will be taking it to the range shortly. Other South African hunters who bought this sling has really good positive feedback about this sling design.

Hey now charging squirrels are thing. I had a female gray squirrel come round a tree one time and let out a banshee shriek from hell. This resulted in me leaping backwards and firing my 12 gauge from the hip in mid air at nearly point blank range. If only I had it on video. Another time I had shot a squirrel across the top of the head and when I went to recover him, he leapt after me and I had to stop his final charge with some forty grain solids. It was a real MS moment...going into battle...with dain-jurr-rous game inside of ten feet...shame I didn't have my bin-nock-lurrs slung across my chest the right way. I could've died.
@Forrest Halley
You are so full of shite mate I've seen your squirrels and they pose no problem. You need to man up and change your medication so you can see More clearly .

Welcome to the party! Prepare to defend your sub .25 caliber choice from these ravenous beasts. They spend all their time chewing on woodleighs and drinking Foster's and Bundy in Quarantalia hiding from the China virus.

@BeeMaa
Your talking rimfire mate, I'm talking centrefire.
But you right even the humble 22lr is better than the 243. At least you still have something to eat with the 22.
Was that with your R8 conversion.

Yepper. At 50 yards with DRT head shots. The second shot was sent so quick that the still alive raccoon only had time to look at the first dumbfounded before succumbing to the same fate.

I sent him an email, it didn't bounce back, but I never heard anything from him. Did you try facebook, I found his personal page, but haven't sent him a message yet.

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.

Mark
