Kudu late calving in the Eastern Cape

I have never seen teeth worn that badly.
She has done you well to have lasted that long.

Hope the grass greens up with some rain sooner than later.
Here's hoping, our rain season has not passed yet. Yes she has served me well, 1 inch higher and it would have been six months longer. Those teeth are still long, we have shot trophy bulls with shorter teeth and loose in the bone. A lot depends what they eat, softer food i.e. spekboom, less wear.

Been a crazy season, I even saw 2-3 day guinea fowl chicks last week, 3 months late. Hope you gents get some good rain, last 2 weeks we have had good rain in the Free State, hopefully the frost doesn't come early this year.

Pre Second World War, well known American rifle company.

Lets throw it open, one of the American companies that manufactured firearms for the British during the war. Also a small caliber. Don't be put off by the add on laser sight, I use that for porcupines in the garden at night.

Spot on! Long or short, typical poachers weapon. You going to have a shot with it?
Warren, these type of rifles were in the hands of most farm kids age 8 and older in the early 1900's in the US. Have seen a number of these, Similar to the "crack shot" of the early 1900 era. Death on rabbits, rats, squirels and any other varmint that would stand still long enough to get a shot at. Only one shot and you were out of luck if you missed.

I was going to say it was made by Stevens. But what caliber is it? 30-30?

.22 short or long. As kids we were tasked to hunt rock rabbits (dassie) with it. You were given 5 bullets in the morning. Depending on how many dassie you brought back, you were then given more bullets.
