In memoriam - RIP Namibian PH Gert van der Walt

RIP
Details here:

Sad that his 12 y/o son saw this unfold.
According to conversations I had with friends and acquaintances, Gerts son was with him on the hunt, but fortunately did not witness the whole ordeal when Gert died. He was back in Swakopmund before they broke the news to him that Gert had passed away. Info in the media are a little vague obout that.

So sad. My deepest condolences to his friends and family. May he find peace in the eternal hunting grounds.

No, he was not Pierre's son and I don't believe that there is any connection.
Thank you for clarifying that for me.

This is a very tragic reminder that the PHs are selfless in their efforts for us, the traveling hunter. My condolences again to the family and loved ones.

Very sad news, obviously condolences to family and friends.

Yet again this demonstrates the risks PH's and Staff face when looking after their travelling guests.

Prayers and thoughts for the family!

Very sad news, RIP.

I'm interested in the 28 gauge Ruger, if you still have it.

I've been hunting and shooting all my life in So Cal. Luckily, I've passed it on to my son who does his thing on the East coast except when we get together for some outdoor activities. I shoot just about anything that goes bang including rifle, shotgun and muzzleloaders. I've scratch-built several flint rifles and a couple of pistols and rebuilt several old muzzlestuffers for friends.
