Hunt Budget realistic?

Our 10 day Zimbabwe free roaming Buffalo & Kudu is $9,500 all inclusive less Covid $70.00 and tips. If in season Tiger fishing available at no extra charge.
Includes 1 night in Victoria Falls, Also includes pick up and return to Victoria Falls only.
Killer deal. OP should look at this one for sure!

7. Some have stated they think the price on the Kudu is high. Here is the quote:
Kudu; $2500
Kudu 53"-55" $3000
Kudu 55"-57" $3500
Kudu 57" + $4000

These size base pricing models are always a turnoff for me. There are certainly reputable companies that (imo unfortunately) do that, but there are also a lot of "put and take" companies that use that pricing model. Regardless, I would ensure in writing the price you pay is the size quoted while the animal is still alive. I would not want the PH to make a mistake or be a sneaky bastard and tell you it's 54" and then all of a sudden on the ground it is 57" --- if they make an error in judgement, it's on them

If I didn't have a hunt booked in Nyakasanga already, I would have jumped on this. The experience alone beats any RSA farm buffalo hunt. Not to mention Victoria Falls is a great place to see.

How did you manage to find such inexpensive airfare?
Qatarairways.com minus a $100 discount code when Alaska Air joined OneWorld Alliance.
Anchorage - Seattle - Doha - Joburg roundtrip.

This was right after stuff opened back up and nobody was flying. All flights 75% empty.

So kinda a side question, but what airlines are a NO GO for travelers with guns?

second question, how far in advance does everyone think i should book the airfare?

I may have missed it in an earlier post but along with your passport, get Global Entry / TSA Pre, a hundred bucks for five years. Also, DEFINITELY get meet & greet from Gracey at Joburg. Both will save you from long conga lines and smooth your entry and exit in RSA and the U.S.

I am TSA Pre right now. Never heard of global Entry. I thought that in my budget with Riflepermits.com I specified the escort service from the meeting area to the Saps office?

It also looks like Seattle to Doha to Joberg is going to be the best route on Qatar but that will ultimately decided by Travel Express.

Who exactly are these companies......
Too much mention of this crap with no names....
so who exactly are you referring to?.

Gracey meet & greet handles the SAPs deal along with helping you with customs, immigration and getting through security smooth as silk. If you are in Tambo anytime busy like a holiday weekend or other high travel time, having Bruce from Gracey is worth its weight in gold.

We don't have names because we immediately click off their site and never visit again. :E Shrug: Teeny tiny properties with no mention of extremely limited hunting = put and take. It is best to deal with the fine sponsors here (y)

You don’t need global entry, just makes getting through customs on us side quicker if you are frequent traveler. Africa Sky/Afton/Rifle permits/Gracey they all provide the exact same service on ground in Johannesburg and do it well. I’m not a gracey travel fan for booking travel though. I think travel express or travel with guns provides a much better service for booking travel.

I try to book flights 5-6 months out

Easy to generalise and say many companies hunt on teeny tiny properties and they just do put and take......then suddenly no proof can be laid on the table.....
You made the accusation....I am sure you can find them again and have proof of this stupid comment....
Just post the links here with the proof of put and take and ask on here who would hunt there.....
If you cannot prove such then refrain from making such comments...it just puts hunting in SA in particular look bad....

Well of course not....you prefer making accusations that you cannot substantiate....and when asked for proof you bail.....typical

Wow, that's great. It's THREE times that fare now in baggage class!

I could easily post links of offers posted to this site of questionable hunts. They are not difficult to find. 47”/50” sable, all color phase impala same property, CBL lion shooting, but I’m not going to. The general acceptance and defense by those involved of farming practices getting merged with hunting industry makes South African hunting look bad. The fact you have two competing hunting organizations in South Africa over disagreements about shooting farmed lions is a clear example. Questions need to be asked that aren’t necessary in other countries.

If you would actually like a specific example, go watch the movie Trophy. Watch the crocodile buying and shooting scene. Then tell me that isn’t standard practice. I’m sure you know the company’s name without me posting it publicly. Their price list is by the inch.

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
Here we are, the last day of the show in Denver, it's been a good show but expecting a quiet day today. I will be back for-sure to do this show next year and maybe also do the one in Sacramento California.

On Monday I will be hitting the road driving from Denver and eventually make it down to Atlanta for the flight home.

its going to be a good year!
