How has Everyone’s Hunting Season at Home been?

Bang, Bang and just like that PA buck hunting season is over for my son and I. And don't let anyone tell you that a sub-sonic 300 Blackout load isn't a good round for deer cause this is my 3rd buck in 4 years using my Blackout and all 3 were 1 shot and down.

I posted a detailed hunt report, but what the heck, I'll post a few photos here too:

Opening week of Montana rifle elk/deer season was the last week of October. It turned sub-zero cold and snowing, so the elk were coming out of the mountains and feeding more in the valley. My son-in-law took his very first elk on opening day and I followed up the next day with my elk. We both took a whitetail later in the week.

Now I am watching whitetails on my game cameras in the backyard in Louisiana and will see if I can get one with a bow. This is the buck that occasionally shows up in my backyard. Several doe show up daily, so hopefully I'll cross paths with this big boy soon! I've seen lots of hogs, a raccoon and a coyote on the game cams too.

Note: my property is not high fenced, but the neighbor behind me is. The deer and hogs come under the fence, right where this game camera is set up.

@Ragman What a season! Both those Mulies are great and what a bruiser of a Whitetail. Congratulations to you both.

Thank you very much, but I'm not done yet...still have tonight and tomorrow to get my whitetail!

That one would be pretty awesome with a bow!

Very nice! I bet I could “suffer through” that one for a substitute as well. :)
The one I saw last night makes this one look like a runt. Last nights looked like post 632.

I sure hope so. Hard to believe that in a year and a half he’ll be 80. Time gets more precious the older your parents get.

Nugget here. A guide gave me the nickname as I looked similar to Nugent at the time. Hunting for over 50 years yet I am new to hunting in another country and its inherent game species. I plan to do archery. I have not yet ruled out the long iron as a tag-along for a stalk. I am still deciding on a short list of game. Not a marksman but better than average with powder and string.

Everyone always thinks about the worst thing that can happen, maybe ask yourself what's the best outcome that could happen?
