How has Everyone’s Hunting Season at Home been?

Excellent jduckhunter! Congratulations on a fine season!
Thanks, after everything else getting cancelled this year it was sure good to get out there and spend a few weeks in the wide open spaces.

Opening morning second season today.
My daughter is always short on time so was super happy to take this 3 point at first light today.
She had developed a flinch the last couple years but has improved greatly with more practice and different loads.
300 yard shot with hornady reduced recoil 125gr sst from her 30-06.
Was very impressed as it broke the near shoulder and still exited the other side with massive internal damage.
I didn't expect that with this reduced load.

Outstanding shot at 300 yards! She did great! Tell her congratulations!

Nicely done! Don't underestimate SSTs at any velocity.

Finally after a 3 years of no kills, and an 18 day hunt this year.
416 Ruger, 20” barrel, 350 grain TSX hand-load.
About 25 yds, through the forehead and into the neck vertebraes.
That should fill your freezer nicely! Where is home for you?

Spent some time in North Dakota with friends last week, ringnecks and sharptails were not cooperative, at least waterfowl were. It was some of the coldest and windiest hunting I've experienced.

A moose calf I shot last weekend.
Our hunting club filled the license in less than an hour!
Short moose hunt this year!
Our dogs have wolf vests made of kevlar with steel spikes on the back because of the wolf situation.

I had a busy day yesterday. Both my wife and I were drawn for mule deer in a good zone close to home. For the first three quarters of the two week season I was concentrating on trying to get Tina her deer but for some reason or other it never worked out for her. Then we got a big dump of snow and things got harder. So with 2 days left in the season I went out on my own while she was at work and shot this decent buck. Crappy pics but I was on my own.

Tina got off work at 1:30 and wanted to go out so I got my buck looked after and out we went. She spotted a buck that looked really good so off we went. After sneaking after him for a half mile we finally got into position and she made a perfect shot.

Whitetail season opens Sunday!!!

Shoot, you guys are making me jealous. LOL!!!!! I've been hunting hard since opening day 17 Oct, and nothing. I've seen lots of deer, but too young and not legal to shoot the county I've been hunting. A cold front is moving in, hopefully that will get them moving. :)

The doe was laying about thirty yards to the left of that bolt, double lunger pass through. Gotta love those Luminoks.

@Ragman Hell of a day for you and the Mrs! Congrats! Two very nice bucks.

Got my first ever deer with a bow this year. Came charging in, chasing a doe, and stopped right under my stand, then ran off a bit and I got him with a 30 yard shot.

With last weekend being windy, a downpour expected this weekend, and a 18 month old girl at home I decided I better shoot this guy tonight.

60 yards away shooting through multiple small holes. The 308win 165gr sst did it's job nicely.

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.

Mark
