How has Everyone’s Hunting Season at Home been?

Heck of a cull buck @MAdcox !! I'm jealous

Heck of a cull buck .
Have to give credit to my hunting buddy @BJONES , he set me in his stand one night and told me to take the old lopsided buck if he showed. That first pick was from that night and I let him walk. Wasn't ready to end the season yet. The next morning a 2 or 3 year old buck came in at first light with those big heavy forks on both sides and I knew why Bobby wanted him gone. He came in 5 minutes later and I got him at 50-60 yards. Fun hunt

Drew a tag for mule deer in Utah, but no luck. Really beautiful country, and a challenging hunt for a guy used to West Texas. Hopefully my whitetail season here goes better.
@cagkt3 , sorry to hear no luck. What unit were you hunting? I’m originally from Utah and have hunted there most of my life. I used to give my parents a hard time about leaving Idaho and moving to Utah right before I was born. It took me 35 years to escape back to Idaho :D

Congrats on a very nice buck! It's funny how big their antlers look when they are alive.

A good start to the Idaho hunting season :) Beautiful fall colors, crisp mornings, and a nice bear with a black face. September is a wonderful time to be in the mountains!

Time to start focusing on whitetail, now through thanksgiving. The rut will be kicking in any day now. A little snow would make things a lot easier :)

And then let the games begin! Wolves, mountain lion & bobcat... I have yet to shoot any of these, but certainly not for lack of trying! When it comes to these critters, the fun is definitely in the hunting, not the killing.

Fantastic start IdaRam!

Beautiful country. You guys are lucky. When I sit in my tree stand, I watch the cars and trucks go by.:(

That would make me nuts.

Beautiful country IdaRam, you are fortunate to live in such a beautiful country! Not a bad way to start the season. :)

Yes, I love hunting whitetails, they are an amazing animal, and that is a bruiser, and hope you get a crack at him. Good luck Hogpatrol!

Another urban whitetail. Never got this guy or found his sheds. He would have been a state record. His genes are still alive and well. :D

My son got a moose opening day. Then I went south and got a ram on day 7. Now with a little luck we will get my daughter an elk in December. It has been a great season so far.

Many people say we are lucky to live in the Rocky Mountains of Idaho but really luck had almost nothing to do with it. I made a conscious decision to move, didn't know anyone and didn't have a job, just took a chance and was determined to make a go of it!

Holy moly @Hogpatrol , those are some whopper bucks! Thanks for posting the photos.

That big gorilla was 1/2 mile from Home Depot, the local high school, a big shopping center and one mile from Walmart's. He hung around for a couple months with some does and my neighbor, against my advice ,tried to bow hunt him from a treestand in a naked woods and got busted too many times. This was during gun season. Biggest screw up in hunting I ever saw.

Good Morning x84958
I have read your post about Jamy Traut and your hunt in Caprivi. I am planning such a hunt for 2026, Oct with Jamy.
Just a question , because I will combine Caprivi and Panorama for PG, is the daily rate the same the week long, I mean the one for Caprivi or when in Panorama it will be a PG rate ?
thank you and congrats for your story.
Best regards
Philippe from France
