How did you get your handle or user name?

Nothing unique or original, just my initials and birth year.

When I was a kid in the late '60's early 70's there was a fullback at the University of Texas named Steve Worster. All-American in '69 and '70. He helped them win two national championships. Texas was my team, and I thought his name was "Wooster". I idolized him. So my dad started calling me Wooster.

Jim Bertelsen, Ted Koy, James Street.

Don’t get me started.

As I peruse those many threads on AH Forum that interest me, I often wonder about the story or meaning behind the handle or user names of the posters. Many are intuitive to me, but with others, I'd just be taking a wild guess. I've had the good fortune to get to know a select few on here really well and have their back stories, but for the rest, I'd love to hear how you got your name - please do share.

Ku-winda, by the way, is the name of Otto Koehler's Journal detailing his safari to Kenya and Tanganyika in the mid 50's. It means "to hunt" in Swahili and was the source and inspiration to many of us in South Texas and directly responsible for setting me on a path to adventures of my own on the Dark Continent.

Is it possible to change our user name? I'd like to have one that is more like a real person's name so my internet enemies can waste time googling for a nonexistent address to send their hitman. Hmmm. How about Albert Penselldiche? Now that sounds like someone who would wear tiny shorts and carry a giant 50 cal double rifle. I should have given this more thought when I signed up. Sigh!
Your wish is my command Ontario Hunter. Now you can make more friends.

You have been reverted to your chosen "nom de plume" by the boss.
At least this one is forever memorialized in google images….lol

Hey my friend, I am returning to SA for a Cape Buffalo hunt in June 26. My outfitter has suggested Highveld but I have read some poor reports. Wondering how satisfied you were with your mounts from them? Thanks in advance.

Hi PaulB,
I have a Ballard Arms Model 1885 chambered for .333 Jeffery Flanged. Do you have any idea where I can get ammo for this?

I am new to this forum so I am sorry if I am doing something wrong!
Thank You!
