I had a lot of fun hunting in my immediate neighbourhood. Moose populations have expanded to the farming country in Saskatchewan, and have created a lot of extra hunting opportunity for residents ( only) with a draw license system. I called two bulls in to rock throwing distance ( had a cow tag)

, saw 5-7 moose each morning that I hunted. Killed a big old cow on the third day

and helped a young friend get his first, another cow, and then another friend get a bull, also his first.

Made a lot of good meat, which was shared with our families. Also got a spike bull elk as usual, and an average whitetail buck.

I got to hunt whitetails with my sons for the first time in a few years, my youngest took his best buck to date, a heavy one that broke our 300 lb scale.

Wrapped up deer season by helping a kid get a deer on the second last day. My bird hunting was less than usual, a few trips for grouse and pheasant with my dog, and a few ducks filled in the gaps. A good season.
