HELP NEEDED To Find Scott van Zyl Gone Missing In Zimbabwe

I followed Scott on facebook and the bad thing about that is if I comment, all my friends can see the post. If they don't like hunting then they can comment and start a chain reaction if I don't put a filter on the post. We live in sad times were anti-hunters get their highs from antagonizing hunters:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:(n)(n)(n)(n):cry::cry:
If you have "friends" who don't like hunting why don't you unfriend them?
I would never tolerate someone on my FB that criticized me or hunting maliciously.
Regards,
Philip

It has been confirmed that part of a boot - similar to the ones Scott was wearing on the day he went missing was found inside a third crocodile.

Let's keep the family and friends in our prayers.

Regards,

Chris Troskie

And sorry to say the same thing I heard last Friday from a good friend of scotts and someone who was searching for him. I hope and pray over time the family will be able to get through this and remember all the good times they had. We need to give the family there space and let them talk when and if they are ready down the road. Prays sent and I hope there hearts heal from this over time.

Hi All - I know this is not a top priority right now or what's going thru our heads but ...

I've just noticed that some European (UK) papers have started publishing articles on the story and using (The Daily Mail in particular) pictures taken from Scott's Facebook account, which is completely open.
In the interest of preserving his and his family privacy, someone close to them might want to suggest they restrict his account.

Sending strength to those close to Scott.

So many conflicting reports it's hard to know what to believe. Earlier it was reported they found his boots on the bank. So if they found his boots how could he be wearing them?

I know the outlook is bleak but I still keep hoping that some miraculous news will appear on this thread and watch it every day.

I'm with you. I still cling to the hope they will find Scott under a tree like Rip Van Winkle and he will be returned to his family

Several days back I read a highly questionable account that Scott's 'shoes' were found close to his packs. I believe this so-called account was simply one of the rumors--probably false--that always seem to crop up in a mystery of this kind. It may have been a conflation of 'footprints' with 'shoes.' On the other hand, I can find no published verification of the 'partial boot'.

On Yahoo news according to a site called One Green Planet which is very left bent the news is bad. Don't know what their source is or if the story is accurate.

Here is local paper reporting in Afrikaans that the story about finding shoes with backpack was information wrongly given by family member previously. They also refer to part shoe found. Hope this is helpful.

Seems like most accurate news on Netwerk24, again local but Afrikaans news site...this is the latest of 6 articles they published - anyone up to translating for benefit of community?

saw that as well. That site is so misinformed and bias I hate to even click on it but in this case I wanted to see what they had to say.

Evening everyone.. i am waiting on a final update from our LHLF president but this is what i do know to be a fact and confirmed by the SAR team; the part of the boot that was found in one of the crocodiles was indeed Scott's. The search wasn't completely called off, we still have people visiting the villages and people there to see if any new information has come to light after the pamphlets was distributed. We all know at this stage that DNA tests are being done on the remains found and I know we all wanted answers last week already. All we can do is still pray.

Thank you for keeping us informed. Until proven otherwise I will still hold out hope Scott will be found

This compares favorably to 7 Rem Mag. with less powder & recoil.

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.
