HELP NEEDED To Find Scott van Zyl Gone Missing In Zimbabwe

Facebook is one thing I wish was never invented. It's the most insidious privacy invader of all time and allows people to spew hate with no consequences.

Agree 100%...it's the devil in binary.

Those people disgust me. They have no compassion for their fellow man yet think they are champions for animals.

People have no respect these days. This is similar to the people protesting and disrupting the funerals of military members who lost their lives serving their country.

No matter what partial information they cling to with their self sanctioned piety and saintliness. I locked horns with several who made malicious on topic comments. I tried, very unsuccessfully I'm sure, pointing out just how the mere presence of Safaris and Pro Outfitters in Africa are the most constant and aware force against illegal and unchecked poaching. They just cannot reason the simple logic and truth. Outfitters, Pro Hunters and guides have a shared and inherent interest in the preservation of healthy herds and species. Many of the same guides leading one with a 416, are the same men and women who orchestrate and guide photo Safaris. They continued until I finally made my point by demonstrating the cost and misery to myriad species just to fill their plates. When one becomes self anointed and feels themselves a great spoke for some cause. The realm of reason is abandoned and the realm of religion or fanciful unreasonable erroneous thinking is the norm.

Killing people over abortion and rioting, burning, beating and kiling to protest perceived injustices comes to mind. They all need to talk less and read or listen much more. Truth and complicated realities are too much for the them.

I followed Scott on facebook and the bad thing about that is if I comment, all my friends can see the post. If they don't like hunting then they can comment and start a chain reaction if I don't put a filter on the post. We live in sad times were anti-hunters get their highs from antagonizing hunters:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:(n)(n)(n)(n):cry::cry:

I have taken a few of them down by being far more vile than they are. I frankly don't give a damn if my friends see what I post. If they can't handle me trashing trolls preying on a good families grief then I don't want them as friends.

Scott was a good man, ran an honest business and grew some amazing kudu on his property. He will be missed by many!

Now is time for grace. God Bless the Van Zyl family. May his arms embrace all during this time. Now is the time for comfort and those spewing ill will shall bear the mark of these faults.

As far as the Antis, or as Scott called them "Greenies", he was as outspoken as any man here. He understood sustainable hunting and is a champion in the effort to rebirth Leopard hunting for SA. I can also assure you his family is tough and have heard such mindless garbage before. Plans are already in motion to keep the Outfit up and running in his absence. His wife and brothers plan to push on and continue offering the same high quality/value hunts

That is heartening news. I was discussing that very possibility last night with my wife.

Yes they are and when we punch back they can't take it and squeal like school girls. It is a mistake not to hit these vermin and hit them hard. Like all bullies unless they get a bloody nose the abuse will continue

Hoping for the best. Donation made. People on Facebook can be cruel.

And I'm sure he wants to hear from all of us a little more often, especially on behalf of others. I love this forum.

Chopped up the whole thing as I kept hitting the 240 character limit...
Found out the trigger word in the end... It was muzzle or velocity. dropped them and it posted.:)

2,822fps, ES 8.2
This compares favorably to 7 Rem Mag. with less powder & recoil.

*PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS FOR MY RIFLE, ALWAYS APPROACH A NEW LOAD CAUTIOUSLY!!*
Rifle is a Pierce long action, 32" 1:8.5 twist Swan{Au} barrel
{You will want a 1:8.5 to run the heavies but can get away with a 1:9}
Peterson .280AI brass, CCI 200 primers, 56.5gr of 4831SC, 184gr Berger Hybrid.

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.
