Have you ever had your ammo weighed when travelling out of the USA

Each time I have flown on airlines which require the locked separate case (seems like all non-North american airlines), they have focussed on the weight of the ammo, not of the case with the ammo. I'd think you'd be hard pressed to find a decent case that could withstand checking that wouldn't itself weigh several pounds.

We used light aluminum lockable boxes into which we put our factory ammo in the factory ammo box. We didn't expect the boxes to withstand a break-in as we assumed any theft would involve the entire box. Rather, these were used just to meet the lockable requirement and as I said are extremely light.

No one ever weighed the ammo.

The only hitch we had was in checking-in to go from Johannesburg to Windhoek: the ammo had to be in its OWN separate bag. Other legs of the flight only required it be in checked baggage.

I've only flown int'l once, to SA. I flew delta to and fro. No one ever asked about me possessing ammo, let alone the amount. I had it in a small Pelican box, TSA lock, and stuffed inside my checked luggage surrounded by clothes, hydration pack, power converter etc. Zero issues for me.

A dream come true!

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.

Have twice tried to post something that your site canned as "SPAM" or some problem.. "Contact the Administrator"... Not sure why even the "Contact" button would not send my comment so you only received my query but not the content in question. I'll see if I can get it to you this way... NOPE I use a VPN and perhaps that is causing me grief...
