Someone said that in The USA, up to about age 35, if you are not a Liberal, then you have no heart and after about age 35, if you are not a Conservative, then you have no brain
Well MR VD not in usa ...but never was a liberal even before 35....only things I was liberal with was young ladies...drinks and partying....in various combinations
I hear you loud and clear and I salute you for it.
Likewise, I have been conservative all my life.
Never went through any time of political confusion or doubt.
Was just a saying that, former emotion based liberal mind set types, maturing as they age and thereby awakening to a more fact based mind set, are able to cite that little saying, as their reason to change toward conservatism.
In my high school years, (1967 - 1971), I began noticing that USA Republicans were too liberal for my way of thinking.
However, since we have no viable Constitutionalist’s Party here in this country, I am stuck voting for Republican candidates.
Indeed they are feeble.
But at least they are not full-on Socialists (yet).
The USA Republican Party needs to get that elephant cartoon off their party flag and put the Democrat stupid donkey cartoon on it.
The USA Democrat Party needs to get that donkey cartoon off their flag and replace it with the hammer and sickle.
Do you own any fire arm or just a broom stick.Well maybe if we didn't have a million shootings every year, maybe we wouldn't have to do this shit. IMO, you can't just give anyone access to an assault rifle or a rocket launcher. I get why the 2nd amendment is in place but sometimes you have to change the constitution to be with the times (18th amendment). I'm sorry if I sound like a hippy or an idealist but I'm just a concerned citizen throwing ideas into a hat.
It's not gun control, it's gun confiscation. Disarm the good people first is the socialist way. Pity people don't learn from history.
I'm weird because while I'm pretty pro 2nd amendment, I'm motivated by it being a social justice issue. I also don't own anything but u get the idea.Do you own any fire arm or just a broom stick.

Im not following..I'm weird because while I'm pretty pro 2nd amendment, I'm motivated by it being a social justice issue. I also don't own anything but u get the idea.
True. But it is for the people by the people. Not to be messed with for ever.

Agreed...
The whole "shall not be infringed" thing is pretty clear..
Lemme reiterate. to me, the care to have the 2nd amendment apply to all law-abiding citizens with NO EXCUSES OR EXCEPTIONS counts as justice in terms of the distribution of wealth, opportunities, and privileges within a society. If there were laws that made it harder for specific demographics to get firearms, like an extension on the background check for blacks only, I'd consider that a social injustice because it's an injustice in terms of the distribution of wealth, opportunities, and privilegesIm not following..
How is the 2nd Amendment a SJ issue? The Oxford Dictionary definition of "Social Justice" is: justice in terms of the distribution of wealth, opportunities, and privileges within a society.
What does the right to keep and bear arms have to do with the distribution of wealth, opportunity, or privledge? When the "right" as it is defined equally applies to everyone of legal age that is not a felon..
The 2A doesnt only apply to men, or white people, or straight people, or Christians, etc.. it is blind.. it doesnt know or care if you are an atheist, a muslim, or a shinto... it doesnt care if you like boys or girls, or identify as a 3 toed sloth.. it doesnt care if you are rich or poor.. or if you own a cat, a dog, or a pet tarantula...

that's at least how it registers to me. Hell, even Marx said, "Under no pretext should arms and ammunition be surrendered; any attempt to disarm the workers must be frustrated, by force if necessary." This is a bit that I wouldn't be surprised he thought of from skimming the constitution.
