Okay guys and gals, here's a lesson in Supply and Demand...
A month or so ago I posted up a nearly new Winchester M70 Classic (CRF) in .416 Remington for something like $1725. It was available from a local Michigan shop which would ship it. I should have bought it myself but I have four rifles in four different .416 chamberings.... The aforementioned M70 was bought by an AH member is about half a day or less. I was pleased to help him.
Since the Winchester safari rifles are out of production for another year or two, and the CZ 550M Safari is no longer available. The supply of CRF safari rifles is low. Here is an example of a Gun Broker auction sale:

Yes friends, that's a high condition Winchester M70 Classic (CRF) in .416 Remington that gaveled at $2480, plus tax and shipping. There were three people bidding above $2000. Maybe a few beers too many for each of them or compensation for something small in their persons? Who knows?
Someone here on AH has a new in box CZ 550M Safari .416 Rigby for sale at around $2500. And it hasn't sold yet... Those 550's aren't coming back.
I ran it to $1770 and then backed out.
Crazy what they are bringing.
This was a verified by Winchester 1983 production Classic Safari New Haven manf. I think that's why it went so high.
