I try to buy it. None of my credit cards went through. There is a problem with sellers listing.@redbarn , that's good detective work!
I saw that Sako on GunBroker. I thought, if I were interested, I'd send the seller a message and ask for his phone number. A conversation can reveal a lot of unknown information...
Thanks,
Mark
Maybe he wants you to send him a few 5 gallon buckets of quartersHe replied me that he has no electronic payment access. More like a scam.
Krish.
I am relatively certain those photos were taken inside of the beretta gallery in NYC - I am guessing it is a scamI suspect that 416 Sako is being sold by a hacked account.

So stay far away from this "deal". Or call the Canadian seller SPON76 from last month at 647 686 7087 and see where he thinks the rifle is...
600 was a mistake. It’s a 602600 is too small for a 416 Rigby
That is a steal!Saw a CZ 550 in 416 Rigby today for $1,100. Not sure if that is a good deal or not. It was sitting on a rack on the floor, next to a Ruger in 35 Whelen for $1,200. Only two large bolt actions in the place. Both looked to be in good shape. Was at American Rifle Works in Tigard, OR. Place specializes in mostly Tactical stuff. I used them as a transfer agent for a Tikka T3X.
Now that I reread it, was Oregon Rifleworks. That is a steal!
It is a nice rifle and I believe a good price for an early Dakota. That accursed brake would need to be taken care of. Also the QD levers are on the wrong sideLanefirearms is a good seller, has a bunch of dangerous game caliber rifles lately.
Full retail for a Dakota from the most desirable era of their production? Not sure about that.$5600 for a Dakota in 416 REMINGTON with an integrated muzzle brake? That's not just full retail, its full retail of a deeply flawed weapon.
Here's the thing: If you're spending big money on a safari rifle you expect a magnum action. The magnum action allows you to use magnum cartridges (Rigby, Lott, Jeffery, Gibbs, etc.). By virtue of the fact the gun has been built to feed, load, and fire a cartridge designed to be squeezed into $500 guns (Rem 700s), most people just don't want it. Think of it as a $10,000 spoiler for your '88 camry.
So that's the first problem with the gun, caliber. The second problem is you need to cut off the integrated brake and recrown the gun. So in the end, you'll be out more than $6000 on a 416 Remington.
Pass. Hard pass.
