That reminds me, I need to take the front swivel stud off mine. I hadn't really paid any attention to it.

I don’t have any experience with cartridges in that class but given the painful possibilities concerning that swivel placement I think I would err on the side of caution

I was warned of the same with my CZ 550s, but so far have had no problems with the swivel stud.

Maybe we should have a get-together for the local AH members in Allen on the weekend of October 1st. There will be a gun show at the Allen Event Center that weekend, plus the Cabelas is basically right next door; so we could hit both. We could probably get @mdwest to join us since he lives right by there.

There is a Scout campout I’m scheduled to attend that weekend. I can try to sneak away during the day. Sounds like a great time.

The scope is worth $300-$350 so the gun is going for $2K or so that considered

I think they may be intentionally using the lighting to hide some flaws in the wood, but based on the previous sale it is still probably a fair deal.

@rookhawk Any 10,000 foot view thoughts on this rifle?

I’d almost swear this is the same rifle I almost bought back in early 2000. If so I’ve seen it advertised for sale multiple times over the years. I want to say Champlin had it at one time or maybe William Larkin & Moore

Hello guys - New guy here and seeing if I can fit in. Not sure what is considered a real "African Gun" but I run across a few medium bores on a semi-local auction from Cody Wyoming and Ohio from time to time. This month they have a Ruger #1 in .375 H&H, a Mauser in 300 RUM and an Ruger M77 in 375 Ruger... None a pretty as may guns on here, but fairly affordable as of now...
