Good African Safari Shirt?

These remind me of the old Willis & Geiger shirts. I loved their stuff wore their dress shirts every day. Still have a money belt from them but I need to lose a few more pounds ti get back into it.
Pretty sure I read he was involved with them at one point.

I’d really like to try one of their shirts during the sale, but that’s still not an inexpensive experiment.

I’ve got loads of Westley Richards shirts . Look great but far too heavy for our weather . I have been going to work wear shops in Australia for years buying khaki and/ or green short and long sleeved cotton shirts . Great for work , gardening and hunting . Cheap as chips and long lasting .

There's a reason for that. The link in Nevada Smith's post (#83 above) mentions that Burt Avedon actually owned the company for a time. Later, after it was acquired and shut down by Land's End, Avedon teamed up with Susan Colby to form a new company (Avedon & Colby) which used many of the same features for which Willis & Geiger were known.

The link makes for interesting reading. Take a look for yourself.

@Nevada Smith - are those “Velcro closures” on the shirt pockets?

HankBuck: I'm not Nevada Smith, but can answer your question. There are no Velcro closures on their shirts. The buttons on the flap pockets are made of horn, and the zippered pockets are self-explanatory. What you might be looking at with the "X" stitching is actually a reinforcement on the shoulder seam.

@Troubleshooter - thank you for the clarification and good to know. Velcro has No place on any quality shirt and especially Not on a hunting shirt - for obvious reasons.
The “horn buttons” you mention sound very nice - a special attention to detail that is rare.
