Germany Hunting Pictures

Then, a new one has to come into the house.
Life without a Dackel is a mistake ;)

As we change, so does the way we hunt. Trailcams reveal many secrets in our forests.
But you also have to remember where one hangs :-)
This morning I shot a strong roebuck there and when I picked him up, I remembered the cam again.
Here is a picture of him a few days before.
Almost too beautiful to kill.
It is the ambivalence in our soul that drives a hunter's heart so much with what we do.
My Dackel has this feeling in no way, he is always and unreservedly happy about prey.

All hunters here a good start for a successful season.

this thread is 13 pages long... and I still enjoy it every time I see there is a new post here..

thanks for all of the pics Foxi.. I've never hunted Germany before.. but this thread makes me want to give it a try sometime soon..

Congrats Foxi on your very nice Roe Buck. Those mixed feelings is what makes us true hunters instead of just killers, the joy mixed with pangs of brief sorrow. If I may inquire, what is your favorite rifle and caliber for these medium game sizes?

Hi Joe,
all my rifles are my favorites :)
After every second or third outing, I use an other gun of mine.
At home I shot a lot with .223 Rem with my Sako bolt action .
But with this small caliber may nothing happen and a 46 gn bullet.............
And I aim always three finger behind the shoulderblade.Otherwise the quick bullet disturbe so much.
Effusion of blood from the first to the last rib on the roes.
Every once in a while we have boars now and so a bigger caliber is necerssary and I go often with my Drilling(8x57-16/70-.22 Hornet)
or Sako 84 in .308 with a 150gn A-Max bullet or my beloved Blaser K95 also .308 Win with 150gn Speer Hot Cor.
The other ones are just gimmick (hope its the right word)

Here my Blaser K95 in .308.A single shot Stutzen .

Nice rehbok Foxi, congrats !

This blaser, kiplauf is saying it all: tradion, class, elegance. Great looking rifle!

Had a great night hunting outside Hirschau last night with good friends. Around 8, I shot a button buck but wanted to wait until dark to get down and retrieve it. Just at last light, this big rehbock came out and started attacking the dead button buck. I got him in the scope and all I could see was antlers! My 308 did the trick and the rest is history. Really excited to have this beautiful trophy and to have been able to share the experience with great friends.

Waidmannsdank Foxi! What is a Fetzenbock? I haven't heard this word before. Yes, the Kleiner Munsterlander is Zeiss. He belongs to my friend in the picture. He was the one who found the buck. Great dog :)

Congratulations to both of you.

I watched this and it makes we want to come to Germany and hunt. What a blessing it is to have the chance to hunt in such a wonderful place.
Great video! Thanks for sharing. I really enjoyed how he went through all the seasons. He did leave out wild boar management though which is a really important aspect of wild game management

Hi Darren,
like a Siberian roebuck.Wahnsinn,grandiose.
A Fetzenbock is bavarian slang and means that what you have shot.
Let me hear from you.
Hope you keep Germany in good memory.
Waidmannheil at all your tracks you are going.

Great memories Foxi! I will stay in touch on here and share hunting stories from Nebraska. It's been a pleasure seeing your pictures and reading your stories over the last couple years.

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.
