Fresh From Germany: Mauser M98 125th Anniversary Cased Rifle in 8x57

Beautiful rifle! Glad you were able to acquire it.

Do you have photos of the 375?

Gold and case is difficult to pull off—they did so magnificently. Beautifully executed.

Oh My God, Thank you for sharing:love:

When Mauser announced its 125th Anniversary Cased Rifles I was immediately attracted to them. I quickly rationalized my "want" of a brace of matching rifles in 375 H&H and 8x57 into a "must-have-to-survive dire need"....so I sold a few things and picked up the No. 1 rifle in 375 H&H and the No. 6 rifle in 8x57.

Needless to say, I am simply in awe of the exceptionally talented men and women at Mauser who did all the exquisite work on this rifle -- from the color case, the engraving, the stock work, and the fitted case work. The magnificent talents exhibited in these rifles and cases is so beyond my meager abilities that all I can do is give praise the artisans at Mauser for creating such a masterpiece, and say a hearty "Thank You!" to God for allowing me to temporarily possess these rifles while I am on His earth hunting His animals.

I hope you enjoy these pictures of the 8x57.

both are very nice,, i,d say more extravagant than their Rigby counterparts

Not meaning to be rude but I would take the Mauser.

Oh, not rude at all! Very fine guns all around. You’ve got great taste!

Beautiful rifle! and great choice of cartridge!

My dream rifle is the 98 in 8x57 but at the time when I was buying the 7x57 was the only cartridge available and in stock (also at discounted price). So I settled on the 7x57, still wishing it was an 8mm though. Perhaps i might have an excuse to buy another when the opportunity arises

I think that no other caliber would be as fitting as the 8x57....................'grats on a very special rifle.........BWB

I think if I was going to own a Rigby I would want it in the classic 318 Westly Richards.

Beautiful rifles, well done!

What a great way to kick off our 2025 hunting season in South Africa.

This beautiful Impala ram was taken at just over 300 yards, took a few steps and toppled over.

We are looking forward to the next week and a half of hunting with our first client of the year.
