Jacques - Those wide-angle shots are fantastic!

They do take you out of the norm of the typical trophy shot. Glad he can not compete!!!

Here is a photo of my best Mule Deer buck so far with a rifle. Not a giant, but a pretty good representative of a mature Mule Deer in the North Dakota Badlands. I hope to get one with my bow someday! I shot the photo of the rattlesnake on this hunt. I was really surprised to see it that morning, as it was well below freezing out.

Man, AH is loaded with some truly good (and lucky) hunters! What an amazing collection of photos!

Ok, I'll have a try as well:
Taken on my personal "slaughter day", when I first got that monkey, than less than an hour later the warthog.
This doublet actually became a triplet, because only about half an hour after this pic I shot another impala female. What a day!

I never thought Africa could be THAT cold in a blind in the early morning... I took everything my backpack could provide to get warm:

And, at last, I'll have another go with my alltime favourite pic, taken from the, err, "ferry" :) at the Pongola Lake

This picture was take during a hunting safari near Etosha in Namibia

HUNT CONTEST PICTURES

I'm Lidia from Italy, thanks a lot for the opportunity and good luck to everyone!
these are my first two pictures, I think I will post some more in the next days!
First picture was taken in South Africa some years ago just a second before the shot...
The second one was taken in Italy during our sunday duck hunting...that was the last hunt before having my first child Caterina....I was really big there!!!!
the pictures of Black Wildebeast, the Bushbuck and the Zebra are more classic but I think are beautiful pictures, especially the zebra one, you can see the joy on our faces because that zebra was wounded the first day of the safari and we tracked it for one week before having it....
Other two pictures are scanned because very old, that was my best safari ever, it was in 1996 in Zambia with flying camp in the Sitchifulo area....beautiful memories!
ciao!

You just took away that nice safe feeling I had walking around in the Dakotas in the cold....Damn.

...............

Welcome to AH Tim.
Please share the story and pictures from the first African adventure.

Another APA shooter! :)

Great candid picture.

HA! Sorry Brickburn! I, too, lost that smugness when I saw this snake! :) I know they can significantly warm up in the sun, but the sun had only very recently risen and really wasn't packing much heat yet.

A wild Fallow buck that I caught in his bed last Sunday.

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...
Behind the scenes of taking that perfect picture.....

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
