Those are fantastic photos Jacques. What type of camera are you using? those wide-angle, panoramic shots are amazing, especially the kudu with the countryside in the background.

JUST A SMALL TIME HUNTER

D Tish's deer (2).jpgHey there.. I am a fairly new hunter (this is my 3rd year) My first year I did get a bear and a deer.... thanks to my husband who has shown me the ropes. I'm not a big hunter like all the other people in here - but - I'll get there..... We'd LOVE to go to go to Africa on a trip. That would be awesome!

DTish, you are as big a hunter as any of us. Wanting to go hunt in Africa is in every one of us.
Congratulations on your success.

Brief explination of the following:
I sat in overwatch with binos and camera, as my wife and PH scramble into postion.
500yds from my vantage point is a magnificant East Cape Kudu
250yds to my 10'oclock is where the hunters crept into postioned, over a cliff, below-another 250yds away is where the bull stood.

I was able to capture the whole event on camera...experiencing this was worlds beyond my most memorable hunting experience-and I never pulled a trigger!

Love that camo color Red! Great Pic

Our PH joked that the animals never see a red truck so they come to investigate! Might be true as we had a small herd of Bontebuck walk up to within 50 yards of the truck one day.

Can you hear me now? Can you hear me now?

I have a duplicate of that picture of my own from Namibia.
Hilarious.

No ambitions to win this competition as there are so many great pictures here.
I just wanted to share a old picture from 1990 with great memories of me hunting with my grandfather that passed away rather many years ago now.
He hunted Fox, Roe deer and Reindeer till he was 81.

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...
Behind the scenes of taking that perfect picture.....

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
