Did a quick trip down the Kenai peninsula last week. Dropped a line in Anchor river for a bit and pulled out a dime bright silver salmon for the grill. View attachment 428348
Nice, ever fish the steelhead run down there?

That's actually why I went. I have caught a few over the past few years. The picture below was last years. But then, of all the things I crammed in my truck I completely forgot my waders. So I couldn't cover a lot of the water like I usually do for steelies. The pools I did hit only gave up this one and a few other silvers and dark pinks chasing my lure.Nice, ever fish the steelhead run down there?

When do the Steelies run there? Would love to do a trip at a time when i could combine a few species.
Mid September until the end of October when the season closes is your best bet for Anchor river, Deep Creek and Ninilchik river steelhead. And like @WAB said you may be dealing with ice in October. I too have had guides and lures ice up while dodging chunks of the stuff coming downstream. When do the Steelies run there? Would love to do a trip at a time when i could combine a few species.
That’s so awesome. Florida is one of my dream fishing destinations. So much for the angler there. The wind has been blowing here for a month. When the wind is up the best option this time of year is to walk the shorelines of the miles of Everglades canals we have down here for some peacock bass sight fishing. Lots of 2-4lb-ers on beds right now that are willing to bite anything that drops in front of them..
Southeast Florida really has a lot to offer when it comes to a variety of fishing opportunities. If it wasn't for all of the traffic, overpopulation, and nasty people, it would be a nice place to live... It used to be 25 years ago.

Had a good day with the redfish in Flamingo on Florida Bay this past week. Caught a few on just about everything we threw at them.

That water is beautiful! Sometimes living in a landlocked province sucks!!!Had a nice morning on the shallow reefs off Ft. Lauderdale. Cero mackerel and mangrove snappers dominated the action....

I had no idea that grayling lived that far south. Learn something new every day. Lake Powell is one of my many fishing bucket list destinations!I have a daughter that loves to fish. We have dragged all over the state searching new species to catch. This is her first ever-yes I had it mounted for her. Also a guided trip to lake Powell for stripers and a backpack trip we did to catch grayling in the uintah mountains. My favorite-strawberry reservoir cutthroats under a bobber in the fall. Fishing is one of the things we still do regularly togetherView attachment 459831View attachment 459832View attachment 459833View attachment 459834View attachment 459835
