Finally bit the bullet

Congratulations on the new addition! Hope she brings many good memories.

Does your wife have a sister? Very nice rifle! I have never had any woman coerce a firearm purchase on me although I have no problem justifying another one myself. I could probably get used to it though! Lol
Cheers,
Cody

Congrats. That is the ne beautiful rifle.

Congrats on the new double sir!

Welcome to the fold and may I say that is one sexy rifle. Ive always had a thing for round action firearms its just a shame VC dont have a importer in the UK

Use it well and safely.

Congrats on a beautiful double, i do like the looks of a verney-carron. I have a nice o/u in 12 gauge by them .... now if i can only convince my wife with regards to a double rifle!

Officially joined the club last week by bring my Double home! I too had an encouraging wife and she took care of providing a classic case to store and take the new baby to the range with.
Gotta keep the wives that understand a man and a gun.

You are a fortunate man in numerous regards!

Now you need to talk Kobus at Rhino Bullets into making you a stash of 400 grain solid shank bonded bullets!

The rifle is beautiful, 450/400 Nitro is a classic, and you wife is certainly a keeper!

Congrats! It's a beautiful rifle!

Great make and caliber. You made a wise choice in gun and woman. Keep both

lol Thanks for the good words Gents! and nope, she doesn't have a sister unfortunately.
I do hope she keeps her pose with the new developments :)

Let me start by saying gun shops are trap falls!
Two weeks ago I decided to check in at the store just to curb my excitement and hold the little beauty once more in my hands while I wait for my licence.
Well, waiting for the salesman to collect the 450/400 from the safe, I took a stroll & had a look at the rest of the homeless DR's on display... bad Idea!
I should have walked the other way, but I didn't.

A little concerned about the recoil, the salesman organized a quick shoot at the local range with his own rifle that same afternoon. Needless to say, the identical twin but in .470 adopted me right there & then & will be coming home with her little sister when the licence is approved!

Any good ideas for Valentines?:love: :ROFLMAO:

Oh nice! Now you just need a gunbearer, "pass the .470 for this one he looks a bit mean"

I was thinking more along the lines of: its a reason to do two or more different hunts :-)

That's a wrap, on our first hunt of this years season.

Hunting conditions are a bit tougher in South Africa during the month of February, but can be just as rewarding if done right.
