Fill this Rifle Gap

I figured a quarter bore would come up. To be honest, I have no experience with them!
@Aaron N
I've had heaps of experience with 25s and absolutely love them. If building a new one go with the 1:9 twist to stabilise the new 130gn long range bullets as well. Fast, accurate, deadly and dependable. What moe can you ask for.

@BeeMaa
Don't tell me you have seen the 25 light mate. You amaze me
Bob
I'd love to have a .25 caliber, but my NEED for one is very limited. If I were hunting coyote on the regular, it would be a different story.

Plus it's good to know I can amaze you every now and then. Of course you understand that if I were to get a 257WBY, it would be on your favorite rifle...the Blaser R8 with a synthetic stock!!!

But this isn't about me @Bob Nelson 35Whelen...you really should be advising @Aaron N on how he doesn't have a 35W or 243WIN. Both would be solid additions to his rifle collection.

I’m ruling out the 35 just so @Bob Nelson 35Whelen doesnt get the satisfaction!

Bob, you sound cool when you talk about .35's, but you should like a school girl when you go on about .25's... lol.

If your not careful I will have to hit you with my handbag after I change out of my school uniform ( just don't tell anyone) , the fast 25s are a great round that kill shit they have no right to. Dang that good ol boy Roy Weatherby even kilt a rhino with a 257 Weatherby.

@BeeMaa
Wash your mouth out with soap I would NEVER, NEVER advise anyone to get a 243.
The 257 Bee will kill any deer or elk you want. Even @One Day... Took his to Africa for a PG hunt and flattened everything. Taint bought wrong with a fast 25.
Bob

Do you have a dedicated bad weather rifle? How about a Ruger 416 (or 375) in a synthetic stock with a weather resistant finish? Something basic that you won't mind a few scratches or dings on. Then you will need to go hiking or hunting in bear country to check it out.
Maybe even a 458 with just irons and a rifle light mounted for a camp rifle in areas where you're not at top of the food chain.

I also have Vegemite in the cupboard and Bundy in the freezer.

A good chum of mine, that guides for Mountain Goats likes the .25's too... he shoots .257 Roberts AI, .25/06, and .257 Wby... I gear him a good bit too... gotta be careful though, school girls can be mean!

Don't forget your .25-20 with the rear flip up elevation sight for the longer shots at hog, barking and muntjac deer. Just saying.

You don’t want a time machine to go back and prevent the 243 from ever being invented?
