England Hunting Pictures

Tom,

You have captured my interest on this kind of trip.

I am especially interested in the Fallow deer during the rut. What is the best time of the year for this? and is it also a good time for the other species?

Jeff

There is no exact science as to when the rut starts but as a general rule its around the last 2 weeks of September. However, factors such as weather and temperature play a role in 'getting them going' as well as location. There will be differences all over the country as to when the Fallow in that area start to rut, even locally. Mine started a week before a friend of mines did and he is only 13 miles away from my ground.

You can hunt Muntjac all year round and the bucks will still be in hard antler, same goes for Red and Sika stags. The does and hinds dont come into season until the 1st Novemeber and Roe bucks wont be in either. The best time to come for Roe is early August in the rut, however, no other deer will be in season except for Muntjac, but the bucks will have cast their antlers.

So you would do Fallow bucks, Red and Sika stags at the same time but you would need a return trip for the Roe.

Great thread. thanks. My wife and I have considered hunting some in england/scotland but don't know anyone who's done it.

a few questions:
1. Do you have someone that you recommend to hunt with?
2. Do you hunt stags too?

Yes, PM sent

Here in the U.K. it is legal to put a moderator on any rifle you poses, as long as you have permission for it on your firearms license. These animals were all taken using my .270 with 130gr soft points.

Fallow are my absolute favorite exotic deer. We've killed a few and they are soooo much fun to hunt and just watch. I really would love to hunt muntjac one day too. I'm going Roe deer hunting in Romania in 2016. I'm looking forward to that too.

Fellow, I don´t have a doubt about the legal of the suppressor in England! (in my coutry, sadless, id forbidden...) I only ask you about the ammunittion, because I´m a hand reloader and are asking for the chargr, vellocity and others factors!
Greetings!

Hi UKHunter.
I would also like more info on the hunts you offer.

Have you ever tried calling the fallow stags in the rut, if it is at all possible like the red stags??

No joke!!!!

At least now I know not to cross anyplace off the list! I hear there is some pretty dang good sheep hunting in Iran.
If you can separate them from Iranian Men

Hi there,

I dont offer any hunts myself but I can help you organise a trip. I will get back to you shortly.

Calling Fallow bucks is difficult. They establish rutting stands and call for the females, making calling them out difficult. I have only had success calling Fallow when I am under 30m from them and the call seems to get under their skin and they come out to see who is challenging them.

A better option to to listen for the calling bucks and stalk into them on their rutting stands, all the while trying to avoid the does and small bucks around his stand trying to intercept does.

First Fallow of the season, taken yesterday evening. The rut is kicking off here and several other bucks could be heard grunting away around me.

Hello, My wife and I hunted with Marius 2 years ago. He fit us into his schedule after a different outfitter "bailed" on us. He was always very good with communications and although we didn't end up meeting him personally, he called us multiple times during our hunt to make sure things were going well. We were very happy with him.

Reach out to the guys at Epic Outdoors.

They will steer you right for landowner tags and outfitters that have them.

I have held a membership with them for years and they are an invaluable resource.

Way better that asking random people on the internet...WAY better

Skydiver386,

Did you ever find your 30-06 CZ550? I own a fairly solid conditioned one, if you wanted to talk.
