During a conservation hunt in Zimbabwe, this ancient bull elephant with broken tusks was hunted in the thick brush. A quartering-to brain shot from 15 yards was executed while surrounded by about 40 more bull elephants. An insurance shot was provided but ultimately not necessary.

That's how it's done...and then finish low to get the angle. Well done.

It sounds like a great hunt. Very nice. Do ele not instantly fall to a brain shot? Or perhaps it did and it wasn't apparent to me...

It fell instantly...they throw their head back and their back legs collapse...there were ele all around it. If you want to get creeped out a bit, listen to how quietly 40 ele can move quickly!

Très bon mon ami!!!!

Could not have been done any better.

As some people had asked, this bull was shot with a .416 Rigby using factory Norma PH munitions holding a Woodleigh 450grain FMJ bullet.

Awesome footage! Real question is when are you going back?

For DG, it will likely be rather 2026. I have a short PG hunt in SA this year still. But that will not alleviate my hunger for more DG hunting. Next year looks like we'll be busy with renovating the house.

But you never know. A deal can sometimes be found.

Congratulations on a fine trophy and shot placement.
