Difficulties exporting trophies from Argentina?

Montanapat claims to have had no problems receiving his trophies from Argentina. So there for I'm not sure how his went threw so quickly and I've been waiting a little over two years for mine. I've also contacted other Argentina outfitters on bookyourhunt and they claim to not have the same problem. I also wonder if my hides will even be worth a damn once I get them. Will they be in horrible shape? And then I will have had to pay for the import of usless junk they can't taxidermy?
Hello Mike, we never will export something that isn't worth of it. We taked care of all trophies. We use the same agent as MontanaPat outfitter, it wasn't a problem from our part. It was a goverment issue. Federico Testa can explain a little bit better than me, because he the one who do all the paperwork.

Best Regards,
Federico

Have other members of the forum hunted in Argentina with other outfitters during the same periods and received their trophies? I’m not trying to stir the pot, but the answer to that question seems to be yes. So what‘s unique about these 2 poster’s trophies that hung them up?

Government action, how is that the outfitters fault?
How is that government action when others here and myself imported trophies from Argentina in the last couple years and his trophies are still in Argentina???
Did you read the whole thread?

Hi folks, I've had decent luck/success exporting trophies out of NZ, ZA, and Bulgaria, and I've been mulling going to Argentina for a Buffalo/blackbuck/red stag hunt. I have friends down in Mexico who've had some real challenges getting trophies out of Argentina, and some of the posts here seem to confim similar challenges. Has anyone success or difficulties that they may want to share, including unplanned "fees" and hidden costs shipping out? Hopefully these are random experiences, but as with everything, you never hear the good, only the bad. Thanks in advance!
Completed a wonderful Argentina hunt the last week of March 2023, 1 stag, 1 blackbuck, 1 feral goat. Despite repeated communications directly with the outfitter and with the booking agent, no word on the status of the trophies. It's quite frustrating. Have had trophies from Namibia come over four separate times without incident.

Still waiting for mine from March 2023 but even more frustrating is no one can tell me what the situation is....never had this happen in four safaris in Namibia. In fact, trophies from my last Namibia hunt in October arrived at my taxidermist a week ago. Still waiting for any word at all on my trophies from Argentina after 16 months...different outfitter than others in this thread. Both outfitter and booking agency are well known. No one seems to be able to tell me or the other group of hunters that were there and who are also waiting for their trophies anything...

That’s really unfortunate! Sorry to hear this…for you and anyone else in the same predicament. Argentina has always been on my list to hunt, but I’m going to wait a bit to see if this gets fixed.

i just had an email conversation with the outfit handling our groups trophy export and things are on schedule for shipment. I'm no expert but it seems to be an issue with just that exporter. We hunted in April. It was my second hunt there and used the same export group as before. Great communication and no issues.

So everyone knows by now I hope that Caza Y Safaris and Federico Testa of Logistic Solutions SRL have been arrested for illegal animal trade. My trophies from a March 2024 hunt with a great outfitter (Patagonia North) were with Logistic Solutions when they were raided. They are pretty much the only game in town to get your trophies exported. Unfortunately, now most of us will never see them. A lot of $ down the tubes. To make matters worse I lost my iphone on Day 1 hiking about 20 miles in search of red stag, so I have very limited photos. It's up to the hunting community to pressure the Argentinian Government to release all legal trophies expeditiously or face a total backlash of hunting/tourism income. If anyone remembers during Zimbabwe's political turmoil 25 years ago they treated hunters well for the tourism dollars. I'd hate to see such a fantastic hunting destination, great outfitters (most) and good people miss out because of government red tape. It doesn't help with the tree hugger liberal news outlets claiming everything hunted is illegal...wild boar, red stag, water buffalo, black buck. All non-native species! Idiots.

Thanks so much for your report! I'm going with "Caza y Safaris" in March for red stag and blackbuck, so this is really good to hear.
Ouch, I'm guessing you're feeling differently now they've all been arrested!

Has anyone heard if SCI or DSC legal eagles have gotten involved with this?

I had heard about the raid on the exporter but that was the first I’d seen about Caza y Safaris being arrested.

Good luck to all that have trophies tied up in this mess.

I hunted with Algar Safaris in March 2023 and they used Frederico Testa and Logistic Solutions for doing all of the trophy export. My trophies came thru to the US within six months with no problem at that time. I also used Coppersmith for my trophy import and they were very familiar with Federico and his company. I wonder if Coppersmith could be of any assistance with the legally harvested trophies from other outfitters besides Caza y Safaris?

Algar who I hunted with is a large outfitter that takes many hunters annually and they are members of DSC and SCI where they exhibit every year, if anyone else hunted with them this year and has trophies in limbo I would definitely be talking with Algar to see how they can help in Buenos Aires and get SCI involved

Caza Y Safaris has been busted for killing jaguars, killing animals out of season and organized crime. Fredrico Testa was also busted and over 3000 trophies seized by the Aregentina government. Small chance I will ever get my red stag and blackbuck trophies back. Also do not use EAI, Ed Rymut. Do not go to Argentina. 9 out of 10 Argentinians oppose hunting.

Curious as to how you came up with your poll that 9 out of 10 Argentineans oppose hunting.

Why not use EAI Outdoors, Ed Rymut?

Ed is my African outfitter's booking agent here in the US. I have used Ed's services several times and most recently to book my fourth hunt with the same outfitter for next year.

I'll admit Ed lacks a bit in his constant communication with clients but he does insure client's questions are answered. Ed is the only booking agent I know or heard of that offers a 100% money back should a client cancel or needs to reschedule their hunt up until the client steps foot on the plane to start their trip.

First hand experience in rescheduling my first and third African trips. Nearly canceled my first trip due to conflict with a last minute scheduling for hip replacement surgery. After 2 attempts at rescheduling my first African safari over 2 years, I made my first trip. Covid stopped my 3rd trip scheduled for 2020. When the travel bands started to ease Ed was able to get me scheduled for 2021 and I went on my 3rd safari.
