I just got this back today from Randy Davis at Leather Link Studio in North Carolina. I sent him the dimensions of my rifle, the tanned trunk from my 2022 Caprivi elephant, and we discussed some custom artwork. Seeing it in-hand, the result is absolutely stunning. He got it done in only a few weeks and the total price was well below my expectations for this quality of work. He also did a small pistol case from the leftover leather.

The trunk isn’t necessarily the best quality leather from an elephant. As you can see from the photos, there were plenty of nicks and holes when it got to the taxidermist in Namibia. The natural grain in the trunk is pretty pronounced though, and they did an outstanding job patching the holes. Maybe to some the little patches would be a detriment, but to me they’re small beautiful imperfections that remind me of the Caprivi and an old bull.

Leather links does phenomenal work. The leather burning technique can take any picture you have and the artist burns it in by hand.

That is not done by a computer or lazer.

very very nice

Beautiful craftsmanship.

Beautiful.

I’ve never done this but I’d like to get a gun case or something made from my buffalo hide next year. Do you need to do give any special instructions to the skinners? Does it go to a tannery in Africa or here in the states.

Also just a public service announcement when looking up leather link on the internet make sure you don’t have a typo and start the second word with k. It brings very different results.

Very nice way to use skins, that case is exceptionally nice

WOW!!!!! Flat out beautiful, congrats!!!

really nice work. love the ele artwork. beautiful.

I love "trophies" like this... I used parts of my buff hide to have 2 different sets of boots made, and also used a lot of it to make backers for pillows.. Ive still got a ton of buff hide left from my wifes buff.. I think I should definitely look at having a really nice soft case made for her double from it....

Send them a picture of her buffalo and they will have their artist burn it into the leather. If You look on their website you’ll see a lot of people send pictures of their dog to have put on a shotgun bag.

Out of the buffalo back skin, I'm making a gun case, and a purse for my wife. I should have kept the skin from the cow buff I shot in 2022.

Xpedition Archery USED Scrapeline390X Sniper Gray Crossbow XACW1001 - Light Wear - Needs Bolt/Arrow Guide Spring UA5689

If it is in a decent shape, would you be willing to sell it for $100 shipped? IS it missing the retention spring that goes over the bolt?
Thank you Ferenc

Good morning John, I just read your setup procedure for the northstar duplicator ator. I found it very hand and I did learn some things. I have the same machine and I am having a problem i can not figure out and was hoping you could shed some light on the subject.
