Three birds in three shots. Hunted two hours and walked maybe four miles. Rough country. Yesterday at a different location I also bagged a limit of three roosters. Four shots though. I pulled ahead on second rooster because it flushed so close. Hit it in the head or miss. I missed but dropped it easily with the second shot. Last year I shot my last bird of the season almost at the same spot. That was a much closer shot. I blew its head off. Yesterday I estimate about eight miles walking. It's work!

It looks like chukar country. Where's this?

Another limit today. Less than two hours hunting but an hour hike in. My Lab still has raw pads from the last hunt so I picked this place and we hunted the grass. I kept her right with me to minimize wear and tear on her feet.

Note the green granite field stone. This property has a lot of it. Would make a beautiful fireplace.

This property is not so scenic but holds a lot of memories. Lab Ellie pointed today's third rooster in the draw on the right. I was walking up the bottom and she was less than ten feet away when she froze. Finally it flushed, I held off as long as I could, but had to shoot him just as he was going over the top. Still pretty close and hit hard. Too hard. Many years ago my previous Lab gave me a similar memorable point in the same draw. Should have had that rooster when he flushed at the fence behind where this photo was taken but the Federal shell was a dud. Took me a while to find a stick strong enough to drive the wad out of my A-5's barrel. I knew that bird went up the draw but wind was wrong so we hunted up the main draw to its end then I climbed to top. Came back for the rooster from above with wind in our face. Opal held that guy for several minutes before finally flushing him. Poof! Easy shot.

Good Morning x84958
I have read your post about Jamy Traut and your hunt in Caprivi. I am planning such a hunt for 2026, Oct with Jamy.
Just a question , because I will combine Caprivi and Panorama for PG, is the daily rate the same the week long, I mean the one for Caprivi or when in Panorama it will be a PG rate ?
thank you and congrats for your story.
Best regards
Philippe from France
