Best places to get Safari clothing?

So everyone is familiar with Cabelas, BassPro, etc. Another place I get a fair amount of stuff from is a place called Working Person's Store (http://workingperson.com/). This is a place I found online and the prices were good and fast shipping. I like 5.11 pants and shirts and this place carries them. Also have Carhartt which makes some good, tough jackets. When I went hunting in Alaska, the outfitter said get a Helly Hansen rain suit and this place carries them.

Your best deal is to be at the Eye Candy bar during the AH get together and be the first to buy @spike.t one of those pink (ok, orange) fluffy drinks he likes and thereby win a Takeri Reserve shirt... Which perfectly fits what you describe;)

Then your outfitter will be forced to give you a shirt with his logo on it for the photos so you will have two for the price of one drink.... and a real sissy one at that:)

yeah whatever! :p....bob you looked so good in it when you modeled it this year ;):D and as @Red Leg said his fitted very well after receiving his one this year....and no drink bribes involved i will have you know ;) just figured he was with respect to every one else the person i wanted to have the shirt this year :D Beers: and yes been using Tag shirts and other stuff for years (y)

Aside from your own closet.... Cabelas, BPS, Duluth Trading, etc..... seriously, save your money on expensive stuff that will probably get ruined.... if you must go historical, Holland & Holland has a line of clothing that will suit the safari..... about $1000/day per "outfit". Just to look like TR did 100+ years ago

It occurs to me that the entire sizing arrangement for clothing, both men and women's clothing is problematic. the sizing is based on the "average proportion" of people with measurements of certain points. Men's shirts, if they are short-sleeve base the size of the entire shirt on the collar size. If it is long sleeve, it's the collar and sleeve length. the circumference of the chest and waist and the length of torso are the "average proportionate" for that neck and sleeve length. It doesn't pay to have a neck or sleeve size that differs from the average proportionate. You get something that fits your neck and sleeve, then depending on which way you differ, have a shirt that wraps around you twice or isn't long enough to stay tucked in to your trousers. Where's a reasonably priced tailor when you need one?

If there is a Sam's or Costco give it a look, locally a large selection of cargo shorts in Camo and suitable colors, also slacks all at reasonable who cares what happens to them prices. Do not overthink your wardrobe, it is not a style show and you will not find GQ following you around. Comfort is the answer. I have a few TAG shirts, like them, but whoever came up with sleeve length.....an XL is pretty true to size, but for the sleeves, the must have used the measurement from a Silverback. Way to long., must be 36 or 37 inches

I have some of the light weight Carhartt pants and highly recommended for hunting in warm to hot weather. I also use some "Blackfoot" Aussie made cammo gear. Their light weight shirt is one of the most comfortable shirts I have ever worn in hot conditions (35C +).

I look for comfort in my clothes especially in hot or very cold conditions.

I am going on my first safari. I bought two pairs of pants, one pair of shorts, three cabela safari shirts in brown or dark tan, and two short sleeve shirts. Everything but the pants boughtbon eBay and the pants I got on clearance at field and stream for over 80 percent off. Less then 70 bucks for the whole set up.
There are deal to be had but just got to be patient on eBay.

I buy most of mine at Decathlon, a very popular sporting goods store which operates in many countries (not the USA).

For Africa they have very reasonably priced hunting clothes which you don´t worry much about getting damaged. Anyway, most of mine stay in Africa after the hunt.

Cabelas 7 Pocket Hiker Pants and 7 Pocket Hiker Shorts are dam near perfect in my mind.

I bought the lightweight version of the Microtex shirt in Outfitter Camo. Too bad they don't offer this product in a solid olive. This shirt blocks the wind to a large extent, is comfy, quiet, tough and the staff didn't ruin them.

Cabela's has always been my first go to

I also buy Cabelas 7 pocket hiking pants and shorts. They are perfect. Very durable, comfortable, well made and come in the right colors like olive green.

FYI, Cabela's is discontinuing the Serengeti Safari shirts....can still find several on eBay used though. In my size (L) they only had the Desert Camo left, which I wasn't a big fan of.

i don't remember what brand and it likely does not matter, but on my trip to SA i took some side cargo pocket, cotton pants that you could zip the lower section of the pants off and have a nice set of shorts. i also took a thin set of long underwear which was nice when it was chilly out sitting in a blind hunting bush pigs all night.

Buy all your cloths at Duluth Trading, if you damage them in any way they will replace them, no questions asked.

TAG shirts and Kuhl pants hard to beat

Everyone always thinks about the worst thing that can happen, maybe ask yourself what's the best outcome that could happen?
