Please:
Where can I buy this book "Sundarban Er Arjun Sardar"?
Thx.

I got the book.
(I read it in the moment and search for infos/statements for upcomeing articles.)

Also I had contact to an older gentleman for my country.
He had hunted "tigers in India" in the late 1960tys.

Absolutely loved reading this. Thanks for taking time to write this powerful story.

Could you explain it and can I ask if a human dont have a gun, he get a spear/a sword of smth like that to keep the distance, can he kill a tiger without using a gun?
New member? First post? Commenting on such an old thread? I would say a bit biased. You joined just to comment on that? Well, welcome to the forum!

With spears and knives you reminded me of TV seriaI I watched maybe 45 years ago on TV. Sandokan.
As a kid, I was waiting till next episode.
A scene where Sandokan kills a tiger with knife remained vividly in my mind:

Besides the TV show: Yes, human can and did kill lions and tigers with cold weapons. Roman arena is well documented. In history it is well recorded that even elephants were killed with a sword. Arab hunters in east Africa would approach elephant from the back, and cut its tendons on hind legs with sword, then they would finish him off on the ground.

Masaai did it for years. Do not know if there do currently but of course it can be done.

Massai do it even now, i beleive.

How on earth a bengal tiger can cross 28m in 0.39s? It approximately 258 km/h. Could you explain it and can I ask if a human dont have a gun, he get a spear/a sword of smth like that to keep the distance, can he kill a tiger without using a gun?
The length of distance covered by a charging Royal Bengal tiger's jump has been recorded on video tape, so it's hardly surprising. This is of course, not their standard rate of speed or movement. But yes, that's how much distance a charging male adult Royal Bengal tiger can cover during a single jump.

Tigers have also been killed with poison, snares, spears, archery, etc... throughout history. They are also sometimes beaten to death by large groups of local villagers with axes & blunt heavy instruments. There are a few documented cases of woodcutters having killed an attacking Royal Bengal tiger with a hatchet in self defense (albeit while facing severe injuries in the process).

Great couple. Mrs. Johnson achieved much success with the Winchester Model 1895 in .405 Winchester.

Martin and Osa Johnson. Correct. Movies available on yt.

I remember reading about members of the British Army stationed in India taking up the sport of chasing hogs on horseback. They killed them with pikes or spears. Then, as more of these stalwart lads were transferred to an African post, they thought they’d try the same with lions! Army officials had to put a stop to the sport after losing quite a number of new transfers!
