Allure of the Ruger No1

Someone else who gets Bill Ruger's vision:

Though a rail and scout scope would be nice...

I think that would be perfect in a .458WM or possibly a .375. Bam flop on most things lighter than DG. Most exciting.

It is short enough that maybe the point is to hand it to the quarry and just ask them "to do the right thing".

OK, back to the adult programing...

I was looking at the Renner Light African on his website and i saw this as well, anyone have experience mounting this on a Ruger no1? I'd like it primarily for the looks on my current stock 270 Win.

Thinking of asking a gunsmith here to do something similar like the Renner modifications. Just unsure if I not hold out to find a 7x57 first.

@VertigoBE that's the safety that the tang sight has been mounted to.
My concerns: The sight has to stay up while the gun is loaded or it looks like it may scratch the frame. In the down position it looks like a soup sandwich to get purchase on. The added leverage making it easier to inadvertently disengage the safety in the up position is not something I'd want either. Lastly, if you were having concerns about ejection before with the stock safety this does absolutely nothing but make the situation worse.

Hello everyone, new member, English is not my first language so apologise in advance. I have found myself really fascinated by the Ruger nr 1 and have purchased a used one in 270 win.

In Europe you have to remove a vital part from a weapon and put in a different checked bag when flying. With a bolt-rifle that is easy, but What would you suggest to do with regards to a nr 1?
What about just fit a trigger lock?

Not mine btw nor am I associated in any way with the seller or the site.....other than being a victim of the site.

Well, it looks like it may be happening. Seems like I will finally be getting my No 1 Tropical AND my first big bore. Don't like counting my chickens before they hatch but this deal is too good to pass up. Will hopefully have pics soon.
Hope it happens, please post pictures.

Kevin,

Absolutely.

I will be visiting the shop at 3:30pm today to pay and submit paperwork. Hopefully I can snap some pics.

I've looked all over for these rifles, in big bore calibers, and one happened to be sitting in a shop no less than 10 miles from my home.

Yikes, that's nuts. No offense to anyone since I'm a huge Ruger No.1 fan, but for that kind of money I'd rather buy something British. :ROFLMAO:

I am as well. Imagine the double rifle you could buy for that?

Makes you wonder how the seller came to end up owning that.

Everyone always thinks about the worst thing that can happen, maybe ask yourself what's the best outcome that could happen?
