AH Get Together in Dallas During Dallas Safari Club (DSC) Convention 2017

So, my wife was looking over my shoulder a couple hours ago and said "Hey, can't we go to the DSC show?"
I think somewhere along the way the Stepford "hunting" wife thing I tried out on her has taken over and run amok. lol.

@spike.t is a lot of things, proper ain't one of them! :A Bonk: :A Crutches: :A Childish: :A Me You:

I'm in officially. May add the wife later. Not decided for sure, but she might end up coming to Dallas.
You're in! :A Bravo:

Please pass on the word and invite other hunters to our Dinner Together!

Have to pass this year. I'll be skiing in Vail, Colorado that week. Let me know early next year so I can plan my ski trips around DSC.

DSC never been so tell me guys how does it compare to SCI vegas or the annual NRA or great outdoor show?? Bigger? smaller? Do they have "zebra" babes wandering around like sci last winter:sneaky:
DSC is a great event with much to see. Yes SCI is bigger but Dallas has a feel all its own. You will have many booths here that do not attend SCI so it's worth going to both of them if you can. Everything in Dallas is easier and cheaper than Vegas. Don't get me wrong I do like Vegas but $20 drinks gets old after a day or two!
Regards,
Philip

I'll be at the DSC for the first time this year for 2 days, just have to decide if I' am willing to use Pay Pal, I hate dealing with them.

There is enough time, so maybe we could just send a check... ? Not a fan of PayPal; Anti-2nd Amendment.

Can't really beat a ski trip, well yes a hunting trip but that's nice of you to want to work your dates to attend... I don't know the dates for DSC 2018 but they have had the convention early January for a few years now so I anticipate the same for 2018.

Thank you. I'll keep an eye peeled and plan accordingly.

@BobT, You're in +1! :A Big Hello:

Hey Jerome. Just completed payment for myself and two more! Looking forward to seeing everyone again.

A bit off topic but last year we had a thread with the members and their booth numbers. Can we start that again?

Sorry K-man. I usually do this. I'm a little tardy.....working on it now!

Started a thread in Hunting Shows, Conventions, etc. Check it out for the DSC Booth List.

One Month Remains Until DSC 2017 Convention

DALLAS - The biggest hunting, sporting and conservation showcase in Texas is just one month away. The DSC Convention and Expo returns to the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center and Omni Hotel in Dallas Jan. 5-8, 2017. Sportsmen and women are invited to be a part of another record-breaking event to help support conservation, education and hunter advocacy initiatives around the world. The theme this year is Adventure.

The four-day celebration is open to the public and is one of America's premier fundraisers for conservation. The DSC 2016 convention raised more than $6 million for wildlife programs, public education and hunter advocacy worldwide. The convention also added 450 new members to surpass the 6,000-member mark for worldwide membership.

"We are putting the final touches on what should be our biggest and best convention to date," said DSC Executive Director Ben Carter. "Exhibitors and attendees are certainly getting excited for the convention and we are expecting to raise more money than ever to support DSC's efforts to protect hunting and wildlife."

The expo offers 2017's first opportunity to shop for hunts with top outfitters from around the globe. Displays also include world-class sporting gear, firearms, art, collectibles, entertainment, seminars, auctions and more. Together, attractions cover the space of nearly nine football fields.

Daily admission to the convention is $20 per person, with multi-day and discounted family packages available. Children under 12 and active military (with ID) are free of charge.

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.

Mark
