AH Get Together In Dallas During Dallas Safari Club (DSC) Convention 2016

Thanks!!! That will give everyone more chances to mingle! See you in just a couple more days!!

Excellent idea!

We should be dancing on the tables by the time the food is served. ;)

I'll get the pictures Jerome! That way I get to do the " blackmailing"!!!!

Thanks that's great. We all remember a few from last year that showed up conveniently at the :A Quotes: right time! :D

Hope the show is going well for everyone!

Any sign of antis at the show?

I have been psyching myself for days...putting on my thickest skin!

I will only smile at them. Nothing else.

I will keep telling myself that!

We will be there t0morrow afternoon, probably to late to make the show but in time to go out for a good steak and a couple of adult beverages. Will be at the show Sat. and Sunday. Been looking forward to it.

Well providing the weather doesn't go to hell my wife says she'd love to get rid of me for the evening!

As long as we don't get too much snow and ice between now and 2pm I'm on the way!

As I returned to my hotel on the bus around 4 pm yesterday, I saw none. But Dallas is a big town, there easily could have been some in other areas.

Great so far, my favorite big boy's toy store!!!

A rifle junkie's dream for sure!

Something for everyone. During one brief stroll from booth 722 to the elevated area (4000s) my wife must have stopped me 10 times to gawk at stuff.

Got to meet and visit with two Legends yesterday - Jim Carmichael and John Sharp.

Got two of Jim's latest book (signed and numbered). He seemed like such a nice and humble guy.

Got to visit for 15 minutes with John Sharp. I was struck that his greatest concern was not booking hunts, per se, but in the viability and sustainability of the BVC. He almost got emotional talking about what would happen to the Lion on BVC if hunting were no longer possible.

Lots of good visiting with Wes, Sandy and Richard at booth 722. Richard comes across as a very personable guy who loves to talk all things guns and hunting. With Wes' endorsement, he ought to be on my short list. I'll visit more today!

Oh, did not see any anti-types either.

Well save me a seat, I'll be there in about three hours. Just enough snow and rain to make a little mess but the roads are clear so off we go!

I hope everyone had a great time this evening. I wish I could have made the trek this year.

It was fabulous. Great bunch of folks here on AH.

Going to get three last hours in at the show tomorrow.

Tarbe,

I'm glad you had a great time! Maybe I'll make it next year, but saving my pennies for Africa safari #2 in 2017 makes it difficult. LOL. Enjoy the rest of the show.

Mike

Better than last year for me, because I already knew more people, and of course met a few new ones. Headed back overseas in a couple of hours. I hope that everyone's 2016 hunts are successful and looking forward to reading your reports once you return!!!

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
Ready for the hunt with HTK Safaris

Hello:
I’ll take the .375 Whitworth for $1,150 if the deal falls through.
Thanks .
