Y'all will have to excuse me as my memory isn't so great and I admittedly drink a lot but is this Tap guy the same fellow who posted a want hunt last year I think wanting a certain size buff but would only use a particular ph of his choosing and had to have pics of said animal before he would agree to come hunt it and if they didn't kill it it was discounted or something?

I don't know TAP, but the comments posted on this particular thread - "every word I say is absolutely monitored by my competition"; all his business competitors are out to "destroy" him; his life has been "threatened with very real threats"; "nearly all" outfitters he's dealt with "have attempted to sue" him; and others lead to a prima facie conclusion that this is a very troubled individual. It may be best for all if this thread and others by him just go away?

Just maybe tap was trying to help us all never have a bad hunt again after all his track record with luck only losing 30 animals and 120,000 speaks for itself. LOL we just don't understand maybe what a good hunt is and he maybe able to help us all.

He has a way of pissing most people off and I have seen him do it on other sites as well. The crazy thing is I did get a quote from his outfitter once and lets just say it was one of the times like I felt I was being screwed on pricing.

Your probably right but... I don't take kindly to someone calling me a crook vicariously through other people just because I'm a sponsor. As usual I probably should have done the adult thing and stayed out of it but it really chaps my ass when someone pops off at the mouth like this. His entire statement was completely unnecessary and rude. I also don't take kindly to people inferring that Jerome, Brick, etc are all in some type of cahoots with us evil sponsors trying to extort money from people. This is an excellent community of folks and I have the utmost respect for Jerome and Brick and Sonja as well as everyone else who work hard to keep this site what it is. Jerome and this site have really helped me a lot and I'm grateful for that. I'm also loyal to those whom I consider friends and it will be a cold day in hell before I will stand back and watch someone run them through the mud.

You are indeed correct and the voice of reason here. I really hate it when crap like this pops up. Seems like every so often someone gets their panties in a wad over something ( in the interest of openness I've been guilty of that myself a time or twenty) and it causes a poo storm. I really enjoy it when everyone is behaving and we have open discussions and kick ass hunt reports to read. As well as the occasional my caliber is cooler than yours fist to cuffs.

Tony said he would book the elephant hunt if we would take over chasing down their trophies left behind and abandoned from previous hunts in Zimbabwe and Botswana dating 2012. Tony even took us to meet the culprit outfitters that assisted us in getting all the information required and we even obtained and paid for the required leopard import permit on his behalf.


Fast Forward to March 2014:

After countless hours of managing 3 recoveries (and the ‘new’ elephant hunt with Johan Calitz), countless emails and coordinating with all the outfitters, ph’s, shippers & Nature Conservation (who even knows how some of these trophies wound up in RSA) to get Tony’s recovered trophies ready to export, he decided it wasn’t worth bringing them back and abandoned the export. Tony was invoiced for the time and money invested and what did Tony do? He kept saying the check was in the mail time after time and finally he emailed us stating that our invoice was ‘laughable’ and he would not pay despite urging from Tharia (who used to work for Johan Calitz) to work this out. Instead, Tony had his attorney contact us. Further, Tony went behind our back to have a different broker take over the elephant hunt after all the work was done. Tony even blamed Johan Calitz that it was they who contacted a different broker when in fact, Debbie Peake confirmed that Tony went to her office and specifically changed brokers.


So, who is the one who is not credible? Surely not Debbie Peak, or Johan Calitz or Ivan Carter or SSI. Who is the one who threatens to smear peoples’ names on forums for their personal gain? Who is the one who breached his contract with SSI? Now everyone knows what happened to the 30 trophies and $120K
