Who was it, Jack O'Connor maybe, that said, "Only accurate titles are interesting." If I can't get a rifle to shoot at about 1" with hunting loads at 100 yards it won't be going hunting with.me. Even my .458 does that and I can't think of anything that I would be shooting a .458 at that would be further out than that. Deer sized animals might be taken out to say 400 yards. Minute of pie plate just won't cut it.With all the variables we might expect in hunting, (weather, terrain, a partially-obscured animal, a less than ideal angle, available light, wind, distance, time), I’m not looking for a rifle that makes the task more difficult.
