Tundra Tiger
AH legend
Maybe some will view this as an unnecessary post. Be that as it may...
Back at the beginning of this year I put it out there that I wanted to hunt lion (yes, CBL) next year. A fair number of sponsors here reached out with what they could do for me, and made a number of really good offers. I was in the process of whittling it down to my short list, and hoping to make a decision by summer.
Well, the best laid plans...
I went through a divorce over the second half of this year. It was as amicable as a divorce can be - we are still friends. But the long and the short of it is that I owe her for quite a few things, and my financial situation is not such that I can pay for a house and other items and a lion hunt in the same year.
Again, why post about this? I get that outfitters are just doing what they do they do to make their business work, but when I consider the amount of time that some of them put into trying to get me to choose them, and then they hear nothing back from me? That just didn't sit right with me. So I am being lazy. Rather than trying to go back and find every single person that responded, I am going to put it on here: thank you to everyone who reached out. And thank you to the many AH members who sent personal messages with their thoughts and suggestions. I am very, very grateful for this site, its people, and all that it offers. To the outfitters who messaged me trying to help me make it happen: not trying to ghost anyone; I just got hit with something I wasn't planning on.
I get that in not being able to do this in 2025, perhaps I will miss my chance, because the future for lions (CBL) is getting sketchy. I will cross my fingers and hope their is a path forward somewhere down the line.
Oh, and this is simply meant as a "thank you"/update message. Please don't turn this into another merits of versus evils of CBL thread. Thank you.
Terry
