Good morning everyone,
Your friendly, young, IL resident here. So when I first joined AH I was really interested in how to financially set myself up for a long hunting career. I can say that I have been successful, but with a wrinkle.
Originally, I started posting about how everyone saves and invests for life/hunting adventures. My wife and I busted our humps for nearly 2 years (would’ve been shorter, but I totaled my pickup during an icy commute home).
We are now in fantastic shape, but now we had a new issue. We started working on building a family and found out that my wife had some medical issues. So we are working on using IVF to start our family.
Moral of the story, it is funny that everyone gave me amazing financial advice. So we can afford this process now instead of waiting to save up to cover medical expenses. I will still get my shot at the dark continent. It will just be a little further down the road. Having a family/children is obviously more important than a hunting trip.
Thanks for all of the good advice. It is also always nice to live vicariously through you all who post your hunt reports. Keep them coming and keep me entertained for a while longer!
