9.3x62 cape buffalo

They have offered the No.1-S in both the 62 and 74r a few years back. I've owned the 74r that I bought new from the dealer. Shot well, but I prefer bolt rifles, so sold it.

I have one in a CZ550 - that is little enough meat imagine a No.1 did fire a 458 in it - I am not adverse to large calibres but - that 458 was a lesson I will not forget !

Apparently 9.3 can be had in 320 grain - as Doctari has said velocity on DG is not an issue - so maybe a game changer ? I observed a Buff hit with 350 gr 375 - went down like a 416 / 458

I also have a CZ 550 in the full stock version in 9.3x62. I have experienced shooting a 470 NE double owned by a friend of mine.

I usually take my 9.3×62 and .30-06 to the range, or sometimes the .470 and .30-06 — but I never shoot the 9.3×62 and .470 on the same day. That combo will pound you into next week!

A Gunsmith friend of mine built a beautiful .500NE 3in on a Ruger No1, when I first shot it it near lifted me off the ground, (still hit the Clay Bird) strange as at the time I shot a .500NE 3 1/4in with 570gr in a very light H&R converted single shot at our Big Bore Club shoot ?

He later told me he had forgotten to wipe the storage oil out of the bore before letting me shoot the rifle, which explained the sticky extraction, super flat primer & probably the extremely stiff recoil to ?

When I was 15 or 16, I aimed my dad’s Belgian 12‑gauge at a crow that pecked my mom’s head… and almost ended up with a dislocated shoulder instead of a trophy!
