Just found this great forum and joined. Just started research in prep for a custom build in this caliber. I noticed some activity and comments around the .585 HE (Hubel express). There are other variants (Nyati), but is there a consensus supporting HE as the most likely for reloading (brass, dies) ? Thoughts welcome.

Ed Hubel here, We got lots of brass, and Bertram has barrels of it in OZ.

And now there is importer here in US that can get it here fast.

We got dies here, and CH4D got more there. We have some barrels also

and Enfield actions if you like them ..Ed

That’s a beautiful the Mr. Hubel!

If you out of the US you can get brass direct from Bertram

without all the import crap and fees..

For bullets CEB makes solid flat point and hollow points.

Here for lighter game we use 585 hard cast lead minie bullets,

like 440 gr t0 540 gr, anf keep them over 2600 and they

don't lead the barrels a bit. The faster the better...Ed

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...
Behind the scenes of taking that perfect picture.....

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
