.375 dilemma

CZ for sure. I used to be a Rem 700 fan until two of them had major issues for me.

Save my pennies, indeed! Before I do that it would have to be a left handed version. This one, unless it has issues, will be staying the way it is other than getting a limbsaver and suppressor
I actually have been ok with the standard recoil pad on my CZ's.

What suppressor will you be installing?

Having one built. Much cheaper and usually far quieter

So it is a dilemma no more. Meet my new (to me) Browning A-bolt stainless stalker .375 H&H

I discussed things with the seller of the CZ, and due to the fact he has a 5 day inspection policy, he agreed to let me off the hook for it since I'm a lefty and could just send it back because of that. I then went to the shop and picked up this. Ended up getting it for $600, which I feel is a pretty good deal. It has the BOSS but that will be coming right off as I hate muzzle brakes. The good part is, it's already threaded, so it will be easy to add the suppressor once it's made, with no mods to the gun. Gonna need some trigger work and probably a new stock. The negatives for this rifle are that it's stainless (not bad, but not africa) it only weighs 7lbs without the brake, and it only has a 20in barrel, which could be an issue since I plan I using it out to 300yds, but time will tell on that.
Now it's an interesting story on how I came to get this. I hope how I went about things doesn't offend the guy that started it, but if it does hopefully he forgives it. I had posted months ago looking g for a beat up .375 to rebuild with my boys over the next couple years as we could afford it. I have a fellow member contact me asking if I would like 2 T/C encore barrels- .375 H&H and .416 Rigby. I will leave him unnamed and he can decide if he wants to make himself public. I said yes and he just gave them to me with a bunch of brass for each! I quickly decided the .416 to be too much in an encore for me, so I sold it for enough to pay for the frame and a laminated stock. I bought a warne steel scope base and mounted a scope in the rings I had gotten as part of another trade. The only other thing I did was have a gunsmith drill out and thread larger bolts for the from grip and pillar bed it. All told I had a working .375 for $150. I shot it and liked it well enough, then I went to africa and shot the CZ 550 and knew I had to have a bolt. I came home and sold that Encore that cost me $150 for $700! Now I bought this correct for me LH bolt for $600, so basically I have a .375 H&H bolt gun for $50! I would like to thank this generous fellow that gave me the original barrels, as it is the only reason I have this very nice rifle I now own!

Well congrats on getting a lefty gun that fits you! Brownings are nice

Nice gun and an outstanding deal you made. You ever think about taking up Horse Trading for a living?

If I could make everything happen like this I would put some serious thought into it! Usually I am on the other side of deals, always losing out on money
